Best places to buy new furniture in or around Waco?

Hi! I’m moving to Waco soon and I’m looking for good places to buy new furniture, especially couches and tables.

I’m open to stores in Waco or farther away. Mainly looking for good quality at a reasonable price.

Any recommendations? Thanks!

Updating a residential address for Global Entry

I recently moved to a new address within Ohio and updated the “Mail-to Address” in my TTP account. I’ll only be living there for about a month before moving to Arizona.

It looks like the residential address can only be updated in person at a Global Entry Enrollment Center.

For anyone who has changed addresses while enrolled in Global Entry:

  1. Did you go to an Enrollment Center to update your residential address?

  2. Did you need an appointment, or were walk-ins accepted?

  3. Did the officer update it without requiring another interview?

  4. Has anyone continued using Global Entry while the residential address in their account was outdated?

  5. Would you update the Ohio address now and then update it again after moving to Arizona, or wait until the second move?

I also have an international trip before moving and plan to use Global Entry when I return.

Thanks in advance for any advice or experiences you can share!

Cheapest reliable rental car option at or near DFW Airport for an 8-day trip?

I’ll be in Dallas for about 8 days in August. What’s the cheapest reliable car rental option at or near DFW Airport? I’m fine taking an Uber, Lyft, or shuttle to an off-airport location if it saves money.

Temporary period without a house lease before moving — issue for future N-400 or other immigration matters?

I’m a green card holder and I’ll have a temporary transition period of about 2 months where I’ll be unemployed and staying at friends’ places, traveling internationally (not from a banned country), and moving before settling permanently in another state to start a new job. During that time I won’t have a lease or utility bills under my name. For future citizenship/N-400 purposes and other immigration matters, is that considered fine as long as I report the addresses where I stayed and keep USCIS updated with address changes? Has anyone gone through something similar? Thanks!

Eastgate vs Rivercrest apartments in Waco - any experiences?

I’m trying to decide between Eastgate Apartments and Rivercrest Apartments in Waco. Rent would be around $1050/month at Eastgate and about $1200/month at Rivercrest, before utilities, for a one-bedroom apartment with in-unit laundry. Does anyone here have experience living at either of these places? I’d really appreciate any feedback about management, maintenance, pest control, safety, parking, noise levels etc.

I’m just trying to avoid making a bad decision. Thanks!

Anybody have experience living there? How’s the management, maintenance, safety, and noise level?

Just trying to avoid making a bad decision. Thanks!

Living in Waco without a car?

Hi everyone, I’m moving to Waco after the summer and I’m deciding on some apartments downtown. Since I probably won’t have a car at first, I was wondering how manageable it is to commute from downtown to Baylor University campus (in particular Baylor Science Building – BSB). I know Waco is not the most walkable/bike-friendly, but would I basically need a car right away? I’m mostly asking for the non-summer months, since I know Texas heat in June through August is a different story. Thanks!

Incoming Baylor postdoc looking for apartment advice near BSB

Hi everyone, I’m an incoming postdoc at Baylor and will be working in the Baylor Science Building (BSB). I’m looking for recommendations for a clean and safe one-bedroom apartment, preferably within walking distance to BSB, but I’m also open to downtown options. So far I’ve looked at Baylor Plaza 3, The Arbors, Fairmont (Brothers Management), and Eastgate Apartments. I found mixed reviews online, especially mentions of cockroaches and maintenance issues at some places, so I wanted to ask people with direct experience. My budget is around $1200/month, with flexibility for the right place. Any suggestions, places to avoid, or general advice would really help. Thanks!
