Sometimes when I tell someone I want to self harm they say things like “choose to do something else”. And I don’t think it’s clicking to them that I feel actually kind of insane, and it’s not feeling like I have much capacity to make a choice. I need to be restrained or something idk.

I feel crazy. Like my brain is shifted into a different state of being. It feels weird. Like it’s literally twisted and covered in plastic wrap. I’ll start driving around looking for ways to hurt myself. Obsessing over buying new objects to use. I don’t always feel like that, but my brain shifts sometimes.

Does anyone else feel like that? How would you describe your brain in these states?
