Goodyear welt blown in 1.5 years

Hello. So I've had the mule packers from White's for maybe 1.5 years now. I use them for hiking, backpacking, and general outdoors stuff. I've been on 5 backpackijg trips in them, and theyve been excellent. This last weekend, the welt blew out on them. Just called whites and they said theres nothing they can do other than charge me $275 for a full resole. Not worth it at all. I had synthetic boots last twice as long as these. Ill take them to a cobbler and see what they say. Im just not sure what to do at this point, so i figured id complain here. Its really upsetting. I get these arent the super fancy handstitched boots, but they should still outlast synthetic boots!!! Would the stitchdown packers actually last? Im not about to spend close to $1000 on boots if a few hikes in them will break them. I was hoping these would get at least 5 years out of them. This was a waste of money.

US customs? Stuck in KY

I ordered a custom thinkpad x1 2 in 1 about a month ago. Had to call Lenovo a couple times to get an accurate shipping estimate. It said delivery by june 5th when I ordered it. It finally shipped last week. Got a UPS tracking number and everything. Followed its timely arrival until Louisville KY. It said it would be delivered today but has been stuck there with no updates. I called UPS who told me to fill out a customs form. Then I called Lenovo who said they would do whatever they can to get it through customs. I dont think I was even supposed to fill out the form in the first place. The icing on top is that my current thinkpad crashed while I was filling out the form. It can only boot to bios now. So now I have zero laptops and the UPS tracker still hasnt updated.

Anyone else experience this recently? What else should I do? Am I just screwed here?
