My agency offered a VERA this year for my job series. I qualified, but didnt accept. 2027 will be the year that I turn 55 so with the IRS Rule of 55, I am about 4-5 months too soon. Wonder what the chances are they will offer again in 2027? I can say a whole lot of us entered on duty in 1997 so our 30 years will come up. Anyone experience multiple VERAs offered? Im trying to look for something to hope for!!!

Hey all, have a neighbor who had a sweetgum tree topple over. This any good for turning? I have never heard one way or another

I should have figured a sub would exist for this!!! So my wife is a hoarder, has taken over the living room, dining room with piles of junk. Two patios and a hottub are a cluttered mess. A basement with a literal trail going through it with bags and totes and stuff strewn about. Sometimes I cant find the main water shut off valve on the wall cause we have 4-5 Christmas trees piled up in pieces. Our kids have been made fun of. I cant have friends over to watch a game or have a beer without some embarrassment. She took over the “office” (a 4th bedroom) with Christmas decorations and kitchen gadgets, cookbooks, handtotes full of papers, receipts, coupons, and “stuff” … right in the middle of me working on it. This was my final blow. This one hurt. I havent worked in that room since 2021/2. I have had my limit. We fight constantly. The Minute I mention cleaning up, it devolves into WW3. My marriage is not so good and I feel like after many years, it has driven me to a depressed state. In a few short years, I can retire and have openly discussed moving out. Because I deserve to be happy too. We may become a married couple who live separately. I dunno. I still love her and she knows she has an issue. Getting her to acknowledge it isnt the problem. Getting her to do anything about it, is. Please let me know my next moves. Im beyond wits end (and quite frankly feeling numb and not caring about the house anymore. I do bare minimum).

Never even heard of this cut of steak (come to find out it was “discovered) in 2008) until recently. Yesterday was my birthday, and with the price of ribeyeas and delmonicos, I just couldnt. Got a 3 pack of Denver Steak to try at $10ish/lb….boy did they impress us!! Great flavor. Leave a comment and let me know you like to prepare them? I just seasoned mine with some basic seasoning, threw on a piping hot grill, turned every 90 seconds until temp of about 145 and served em up. Delish!!

Okay, wanna read a few horror/thrillers and take a break from the westerns. What Im not into is the supernatural. See, the story has to seem plausible to me to get into it. Im not really into demons, ghosts, spirits, werewolves, vampys, etc. Instead, I sorta like almost a hunter/hunted scenario. Serial killer/cop. Something naturally loathsome. Dystopian novels work well for me also. I read the Jeff Menapace trilogy of the Lambert family and thought they were good. Whatcha got?
