2nd attempt at blendable oil pastels. Will scrap, but getting there
Will scrap this one as not happy with proportions and right side of face, but good practice.
Think I'm overblending the pastels, need to figure out how to use them properly.

Although Snapes view of Harry was always distorted through his hatred of James, I do think Snape understands Harry at a base level.
I'm thinking specifically about the scene where Snape purposely sets Harry's the task of going through the Marauders crimes for his detention in HBP. Snape understands that to Harry, this is a painful. Reading about his loved ones, who he holds in high regard, behaving badly. If you gave this detention to Malfoy, he wouldn't care that his father was a bully, he'd probably relish it. But Snape understands Harry's feeling towards the task in that Harry was himself previously bullied, and is at a base level a pretty decent person that doesn't condone treating people that way.
Although Snape can't explicitly admit it to himself who Harry is, there is some recognition of his true nature, which aligns more to Lily than to James.
Edit: I feel like people have got the wrong end of the stick here. What Snape did to Harry was cruel, particularly when Sirius had been dead less than a year. To add a bit more context, I'm thinking about how in Snapes memories in the pensive, Snape keeps banging on to Dumbledore about how Harry is just like his dad. However, I'm saying that fundementally at a deep level Snape knows that Harry is a decent person. He just can't admit it to himself.
Edit 2: Someone just posted in comments another good example of this "There's also when Harry wanted to hide under his cloak in HBP after having his nose stomped by malfoy, but Snape refuses. He's always accusing him of being an attention seeker but then denies him opportunities to hide from attention"
