Just unsubbed from KotakuInAction

I saw a recent hot post about how indie games are just as woke as AAA sphere. And holy fuck, comments on that post was so miserable it was truly the last straw for me.
Because the ultimate question is this, would you rather be slightly woke but be someone who gets up and puts great effort and passion into realizing your dream? Or would you rather be someone who bedrots all day on Reddit complaining about how everything is woke?
This whole "woke vs chud" is nothing but the two sides of the same exact coin that is being chronically online. I'm never surfing that miserable ass community again.

When will this nightmare end?

I'm so fatigued from explaining my elderly mother that Jesus and TungTungSahur using the infinity stones to ressurect Micheal Jackson back from the dead didn't fucking happen and it's all fake AI generated bullshit. It genuinely feels like post-AI internet is a purgatory.

God, why is DS2 so outrageously drippy? I put 1600 hours in Elden Ring and I never felt like this.

Subnautica 2 unkillable fish issue is so anti-gamedev

If I post it on their turf, I'll get eaten alive, so I'm gonna make my point here like a coward, hehe.
The way so so so many people relentlessly defend the arrogant (based on their responses) developers on the unkillable hostile fish situation is genuinely so confusing for me. Because the solution is so simple, it's driving me insane how the developers and the fanbase are not seeing it. Just make an achievement for finishing the game without hurting any fish! Even the first game had edible plants that you can easily farm to do a vegan playthrough. Better yet, how about those gamedevs actually think like a gamedev and make a branching story, big or small, where you get extra reward, congratulations and story tidbits? Sort of like Undertale's pacifist route. Why not straight up make some cool and wacky things like a fish God comes down and blesses you for your ethical ways? I mean, the Sea Empress Leviathan in the first game was basically a deity figure who can telepathically talk to you and is full of wisdom and benevolence. Wouldn't it feel so fucking awesome if she acknowledged you doing a pacisift playthrough? Aren't video games so fucking awesome?
I swear to Sea Empress bro, game studios are full of people who just don't like actually making games and act like they're being forced to work as gamedevs.

Do I hate AI because I'm egotistic?

I don't understand how you can stretch the joy you get from AI generating art any longer than month at best. Maybe the answer is as simple as: most people only get joy from making money and they'll use any method necessary to make it. And that's probably true. But no matter how much money I have, if money is the only metric of my self, then I'm not unique in the slightest. Whatever number shows up in your bank account right now, billion other people have the similar number. And you'll never become richer than Jezz Bezos. I wanna be different. That's why I wanna define myself by my art. And when I say "my" art, I really really mean "mine" down to every detail. You know how AI bros stretch and twist the definition of "art" into making it so they technically consider themselves artists and be happy? My ego won't let me do that. It knows that that's fucking bullshit. It knows every lies I tell, every moment I slack off and be lazy, every excuse I make, every sins I commit. It'll never let me just drift along life without caring about anything. Maybe it's all just pure egoslop?

I think I did it for almost five years now that I think about. I heard that motivational tip when I was a college student and it worked for a long time. But lately I find that it has done damage to my brain. Now I just won't do anything unless I have a reward such as snack offered on the other side. I don't feel that it's healthy to constantly feel like I have to do some kind of transaction with my own self just to get even the smallest tasks done.
