Image 2 — Food For Thought: Komugi was not always blind.

Food For Thought: Komugi was not always blind.

I haven't seen this discussed anywhere. And believe me, I did search. So hath taken it upon myself.

Many of you already know of the condition of Komugi's Hatsu.

  • She must bet her life.

But that's not the sole reason it's so powerful. Like it's a big boost, but someone just as passionate could do the same thing. That's easy. You only have to worry about death AFTER you lose.

But not many people picked up her subtly mentioned 2nd condition, and even fewer have thought about the implication. It is the stronger condition — a sacrifice 99% percent of people would never make cause they must live with it — that virtually guarantees she's unbeatable.

Komugi:

> “I can't help opening m’ eyes, during a game.”

> “I can TRY to close ’em if it makes you uncomfortable.”

Meruem:

> (Strange. I feel a clearly different vibe.)

  1. She must bet her life.
  2. Her eyes must stay open while playing gungi.

I'm sure you've figured out where this is going. That girl went blind FROM playing gungi. Imagine playing an entire professional game of chess with no timer and never blinking the entire time. Like...

Komugi:

> “I can play gungi for three days straight if I hafta...”

...How. Would. She. Know. That? Unless she did infact play gungi for 3 days straight (a.k.a. was unable to blink for 3 days straight).

I initially thought: (Screw the opponent who made her do that.)

But then was like: (No wait. Can't blame the opponent. They were both likely competing for #1, which is the only gungi position that pays actual real money since the champion represents the country.)

She's the breadwinner of her 12 person primary family. Screw her parents btw. Like really, 10 to 12 kids? I'm pretty sure hxh doesn't have child support systems that promote having babies, considering Komugi felt the passion to do what she did as well as considering the phantom troupe origins. Anyways off topic.

She's the breadwinner. And to provide for her family she subconsciously made her conditions.

The nen power system treasurer/accountant deity probably pulled up Komugi's file and was like:

“Let's see what we have here. [Last Name], Komugi... hmmm. Says here she wants to never lose at gungi. Never lose, mmm pretty steep price, let's see what you offered Ms. Komugi. OH MY!? Offering her life right off the bat!? Gotta get the calculator for this one. Ok, what else? Yup, must factor in gungi isn't even supposed to be deadly. Unaware of nen, ooo she's adding value quick. Blah blah blah... She can't blink. Hm? Well let me look into the future to see how many games she gonna— OH GOODNESS SHE'S AIMING FOR CHAMPION AND A CAREER! Lemme just...”

[Backspaces] "Can't blink" [and changes it to] "Guaranteed Blindness"

“There. That sounds more accurate. Ms. Komugi, you have yourself a DEAL, you have been a generous patron to the nen system. You will NEVER lose that stupid board game. Here's your new hatsu. If someone so much as slightly has a chance to beat you, you can use Yu-Gi-Oh rules and make something up.”

Of course, I typed this for nothing if it's explicitly stated she was born blind. But I didn't find anything saying so, so please correct me if I overlooked it. Though if she was born blind, I feel that'd be a major missed opportunity (cause gungi being the reason she's blind is way better). Plus her condition of keeping her eyes open wouldn't make sense if she was born blind, because they'd have no real value.

She may also have a 3rd condition, but that one is not as clear as the first two.

  1. Only think about gungi.

You're give a large payout. Your task is to annoy this random super powerful sorcerer. You can combine or mix a cursed technique with one other thing. What do you put together and how do you use annoy them.

^(Typo Correction: You're [given]:: how do you use [it to] annoy them.)

By combine/mix any two things, I mean:

  • curse technique + heavenly restriction

  • curse technique + curse technique

  • curse technique + biological trait

  • curse technique + curse tool

  • etc.

Or if you think it'd funner, ignore the limitation and just do any two things you want:

  • heavenly restriction + heavenly restriction

  • CT From This Subreddit + Whatever

  • etc.

My idea was what if someone on a mountain with a telescope, 10 Shadows, and Mechamaru's HR kept dropping tactical untamed Mahoragas on some poor random soul each time they managed kill Mahoraga.

I think that'd be pretty annoying. Fighting for your life and then ... another one.

You: “With this treasure I summon... With this treasure I summon... With this treasure I summon...”

Them: “When I find who's doing this!”

Jujutsu-fied Dante & Vergil (Devil May Cry)

Biography

The Redgrave Twins were born to human mother Eva Redgrave and the winged simurian Sparda Defel Aligheiri.

Dante and Vergil were rendered orphans at a young age. Not long after their parent's deaths, Vergil left Dante and became a curse user to pursue his own goals. Dante grew up to open a pizza parlor, where he spends most of his time. When not at the parlor, he exorcises curses in his spare time. Though it's not really a choice. Curses tend to find him.

Though the brothers are currently at odds, their relationship appears to be mending.

Biology

The twins are human/simurian hybrids.

The twins lack any prominent simurian traits and otherwise appear completely human at first glance.

Internally, their simurian eye has assimilated with their gut and they behave as one big cursed energy mitochondria.

The organs work in tandem to bestow upon the twins with phenomenal cursed energy reserves & generation and naturally perform reverse cursed technique. The twins have an automatic healing factor such that they heal the instant whatever harming them is removed.

Not to say they're invincible. Reverse cursed technique is still reversed curse technique (a.k.a. not cheap). They cannot "turn off" their healing. Their bodies prioritizes generating positive energy over cursed energy. Continuous damage will exhaust them if facing an opponent of similar calibur.

At some point (and coming much easier to Vergil than Dante), the brothers learned to break down their natural positive energy back into cursed energy, when running it through their brains. Doing so results in a surge of cursed energy that manifests as horns atop their heads. The overabundance of cursed energy empowers them greatly and can be maintained indefinitely.

Signature Items

Despite being deceased, their parents continue to watch over their children post mortem in the form of gifted heirlooms.

Perfect Amulet (halves): Dante and Vergil have both consumed halves of a cursed object known as the Perfect Amulet. It has boosted their reserves and granted each a diminished version of their mother's cursed technique. Through binding vow, the Perfect Amulet halves are only usable by her offspring and her incarnation is impossible — she is truly dead.

Yamato: The sword left for Vergil, made from the soul of Sparda. It is a cursed tool imbued with Sparda's {Separation} technique. Yamato is capable of severing anything, even the very fabric of space-time itself — allowing Vergil to attack from a distance or relocate. The only thing it cannot sever is its other self (a.k.a. Dante's half). Should anyone who lacks the blood of Sparda attempt to wield it, their soul will be severed by a lingering will.

Kalyan Sword Dante: The sword left for Dante, made from the soul of Sparda. It is a cursed tool imbued with Sparda's {Unification} technique. It was initially just called "Kalyan Sword" before bonding with Dante. It is indestructible. It allows Dante to unify himself to anything — a fancy way of saying it gives Dante telekinesis.

Dante does not need to hold the sword, it has a mind of its own and is linked to his intent, switching up tactics to compliment Dante's many fighting styles. Dante can recall the blade no matter how far it is. Only Dante is allowed to wield this blade; it rejects all other. As Dante's twin, Vergil can wield its power to full effect.

Cursed Technique: [Echo]

The innate technique shared by both brothers.

It allows the user to create echo instances of their attack that trigger after short delay. They are instances of a potentially damaging moment frozen in time (i.e. the line of a cut, a bullet, a foot, fist or kneecap, etc).

Echos are visible only to the user until they actually occur and only occur exactly where they were made. If a sword slash is echoed, then the user can be nowhere near the original slash while doing absolutely nothing and that slash will repeat itself in the original spot, damaging whatever is there if there is something.

It gives the illusion the user is attacking faster than they really are; six bullets may actually be just one shot echo'd 5 times. Highly mobile targets are not ideal for melee echos. Echo attack treat any interaction as the original occurrence would, so blocking them is possible.

Extension Technique: [Echo Echo Echo...]

Echos may be activated multiple times, but suffer diminishing returns the older they become.

Maximum Technique: [Relentless Reverb]

A continuous echo instead of an instance. It is visible to all and takes the form of a spectral doppelganger that copies the actions of the user with delayed timing. The doppelganger resembles the simurian heritage of the twins rather than their human appearances. A sort of "what if" they took on more of their father's genes than their mother's.

Reversal Technique: [Forestrike]

The user is now the echo, being able see their own (and only their own) future actions play out a certain amount of time into the future.

People with knowledge of Elden Ring, think of it like bloodstains. That's how it appears to the user as they are fighting.

Everyone else, think of like a pseudo-mutated-projection sorcery. Where there is only one projected image of yourself, doing exactly what you will do in the future.

While channeling this technique, the users body will follow the predetermined path of their future self. And while doing so, should the user choose to, they may teleport to a position where they WILL be; skipping but not performing the actions in-between. [Note: they are not skipping forward in time, it really is just a teleport]

^([Note: The brothers actually have three imaginary techniques. One shared. Two exclusive.])

Imaginary Technique: [Sin Kalyan Trigger]

Using both technique and reversal in tandem, twins can bring their simurian doppelgangers into the present. The doppelgangers overlay the users and move in perfect sync. This action quadruples every aspect about themselves. Power, Speed, Reinforcement, CT, etc. You name it.

They cannot maintain this state for long, but heck, overwhelming power doesn't have to last long to deal devastating damage.

Imaginary Technique: [Carrion Dance]

Vergil exclusive. Vergil teleports to where he will be, while his doppelganger instantaneously carries out the in-between actions he never took. It is unclear if Vergil can't perform or lacks the technical knowledge to perform Dante's version, or is simply too stubborn to use it because he refuses to live in the past.

Imaginary Technique: [Kalyan Advocate]

Dante exclusive. Dante sends his doppelganger to carry out the actions he has yet to perform, freeing up Dante to take a different path. It is unclear if Dante can't perform or lacks the technical knowledge to perform Vergil's version, or is simply too stubborn to use it because he refuses to forget the past.

Miscellaneous Technique: [Legacy]

As mentioned prior, the twins also bear their mother's cursed technique.

[Legacy] is the innate technique of Eva Redgrave. It allows the user to transform the soul of defeated or willing targets into ideal cursed tools and stores them inside the technique. The user is gifted innate understanding of those cursed tools when wielded (styles). Only one of such tools may be wielded at a time.

Due to each brother only possessing half the amulet, the technique is diminished. The diminished technique will only work on very powerful souls (special grade). There is a high chance of failure when used on weaker targets.

Domain Expansions

{Alpha and Omega}: Vergil bears an open domain expansion, achieved as a testament to his superiority over his brother. Its totem appears as roots spiraling from the ground, as if a tree were growing upside-down. Within its boundaries, Virgil exists in the past, present, and future simultaneously — eliminating the concept of causality for him alone. The sure-hit is the whim of Vergil, whatever the heck he wants to happen.

Vergil's Optional Binding Vow: His domain appears in patches rather than one large area ⇄ The roots seek out non-combatants to serve as fuel and grow the domain areas indefinitely.

{Stand Still}: There is no past, there is no future, there is only now. After many bouts lossed to his brother, Dante's domain no longer incomplete. In Dante's world of inverted color, time does not flow. Though it may seem Vergil's domain is superior, Dante's is proven refined in its own subtle way (much to Vergil's irritation). Dante requires neither any hand sign nor chant, merely a finger-snap to expand his domain multiple times a day at unprecedented speed. Blink and you'll miss it.

Dante's Optional Binding Vow: Dante's domain barrier collapses the instant it is fully formed ⇄ multiple uses a day.

Dante & Vergil (Devil May Cry) have joined Jujutsu Kaisen!

The Redgrave Twins were born to Eva Redgrave (human mother) and Sparda Defel Aligheiri (winged simurian father); making them human/simurian hybrids. The twins lack any prominent simurian traits and otherwise appear completely human externally.

Internally they have an additional spherical organ that generates cursed energy alongside the gut. The organs work in tandem to bestow upon the twins abnormal cursed energy reserves and generation. Together the organs also naturally perform reverse cursed technique, granting the twins a phenomenal and automatic healing factor such that they heal the instant whatever harming them is removed.

Not to say they are invincible. Reverse cursed technique is still reversed curse technique. They cannot "turn off" their healing. Their bodies prioritize reverse cursed technique over cursed energy, thus damaging them continuously will still take its toll by fatiguing them when facing opponents of similar caliber.

When feeling especially serious or murderous, their cursed energy will focus into horns on their heads.

Dante and Vergil were rendered orphans at a young age. Not long after their parent's deaths, Vergil left Dante and became a curse user to pursue his own goals. Dante grew up to open a pizza parlor, where he spends most of his time. When not at the parlor, Dante exorcises curses in his spare time. Though it's not really a choice. Curses tend to find him.

[Cursed Technique]

The cursed technique innate to both brothers is known as "Assault Echo".

{Assault Echo}: Attacks the user apply this technique to will leave behind echos, giving the illusion that the user is attacking much faster than they actually are. Only to the user are echos visible until they actually occur, appearing as instances of a potentially damaging moment frozen in time (ex: the line of a cut, a bullet, a foot, fist or kneecap, etc). Echos trigger automatically after a delay. Echos only occur exactly where they were made, thus a highly mobile target is less than idle for melee based echos.

[Extension Techniques]

{Echo Echo Echo...}: Echos may be activated multiple times, but suffer diminishing returns after fourth activation.

[Maximum Techniques]

{Relentless Reverb}: A continuous echo instead of an instance. It is visible and takes the form of a spectral doppelganger that copies the actions of the user with delayed timing. The doppelganger resembles the simurian heritage of the twins rather than their human appearances. A sort of "what if" they took on more of their father's genes than mother's.

[Reverse Techniques]

{Forestrike}: The user is now the echo, being able see their own (and only their own) future actions play out a certain amount of time into the future.

People with knowledge of Elden Ring, think of it like bloodstains. That's how it appears to the user as they are fighting.

This action quadruples every aspect about themselves. Power, Speed, Reinforcement, CT, etc. You name it. It is of course very draining to maintain for more than some seconds.

{Carrion Dance}: Vergil exclusive. Vergil teleports to where he will be, while his doppelganger instantaneously carries out the actions he never took. It is unclear if Vergil can't perform or lacks the technical knowledge to perform Dante's version, or is simply too stubborn to use it because he refuses to live in the past.

{Kariyan Advocate}: Dante exclusive. Dante sends his doppelganger to carry out the actions he has yet to perform, freeing up Dante to take a different path. Though the brothers are currently at odds, their relationship appears to be mending. Should they one day set aside their differences and work together ... such a prospect is feared all who know their names.

[Domain Expansions]

{Alpha And Omega}: Vergil bears an open domain expansion, achieved as a testament to his (8 seconds older) superiority over his brother. Its totem appears as roots spiraling from the ground, as if a tree were growing upside-down. Now you may be thinking: “How the heck do you possibly give Todo's technique a reversal? Wouldn't it just be un-swapping? And the other ideas don't make any sense.”

Well fear not, for I bring you all no malarkey. This reversal is legitimate and was crafted from only the most impeccable, infallible, un-hole-some, flawless of completely logical reasoning. I'm sure you must being dying to find out if this a meme/time waste or not. So without further ado, I present to you:

{Hokie Pokie}

As we all know, "dancing" and "circles" are closely intertwined concepts. At first glance, you may imagine {Boogie Woogie} as a simple swapping of places. But what if, instead, it is a rotation?

Imagine if you will, a line connecting Todo and his target. When Todo claps his hands, this line instantly rotates 180 degrees.

“Ok, but wouldn't a reversal of that still cause them to end up in the same place?”

NO!! Because we're not reversing the line itself, we're reverse the number of degrees itself! After all, "1" and "8" and "0" are all numbers you can't tell which way they are facing. ...That has nothing to do with anything, BUT STILL!

Lapse: 180 degrees

Reversal: 081 degrees ^([view 2nd image])

Now when Todo claps his hand, he and his target are instantly shifted to the left or right in an 81-degree arc.

And this would justify the technique becoming more expensive. With {Boogie Woogie}, two things are taking each other's place, nothing's really changing.

But with {Hokie Pokie}, two things are just straight up being displaced (no replacement), and thus it can actually be lethal.

Aside from evasion, discombobulation, trolling, and overall unpredictability, {Hokie Pokie} opens up an avenue for Todo to insta GG OHKO opponents by just ... teleporting them inside walls. Cause you know ... matter isn't supposed to occupy the same space simultaneously. Complete durability negation.

Like imagine Todo spots big rock on the ground and as the canonically smartest and fastest thinker in the franchise, he does the mental trigonometry (or just has the hang of it) and realizes you are within 81° of it. THEN BOOM! Todo claps and you have a rock sharing the same space as your ankle.

Pain.

Now ... enjoy the rest of your day. [SMOKE BOMB!!] 💣 💥

Developed this term some months ago while theorizing an OC. In their draft, I noticed I kept describing their cursed technique as "incomplete". Figured I might as well add it as a term the community can use or consider when making their OC's. Plus this is setting up for another post I'm going to make soon.

The definition is simple.

Incomplete Technique:

^(1) A cursed technique that REQUIRES its reversal for full understanding and/or utilization and is otherwise disproportionately harmful/detrimental/lethal to the user without it.

^(2) A cursed technique that is incomplete without reverse cursed technique. Without its reversal, the technique feels as if something crucial is missing from it.

Examples of canon complete technique: Limitless, Shrine, Black Bird Manipulation, Boogie Woogie, etc.

^(Complete techniques are fully functional without rct. They feel complete even without R.C.T)

Example of canon incomplete technique: Mythical Beast Amber (Kashimo's CT)

^(Up until facing Sukuna, Kashimo purely uses the cursed energy trait his technique bestows. Never the technique itself.)

^(The cursed technique itself converts Kashimo's flesh into electricity. His cursed technique will kill him with a single usage. It's suicide.)

^(That in itself does not make the technique incomplete. However, if we take into consideration what his reversal would theoretically be — electricity into flesh — NOW we can classify it as an incomplete technique.)

^(Because the reversal not only saves him, but makes the puzzle feel complete. Fixes that "wrongness". Fills the big picture. That that's the TRUE technique and could lead to so much more. Both together.)

This isn't just a "better shrine" it's the best shrine possibly could be. So let's call it "Best Shrine".

I'm gonna apply concepts I learned in social studies and history.

#Best Shrine

So you know how history classes and social studies have timelines? And how timelines count down to zero then up from zero? B.c to A.d.?

Well I'm pretty sure that's what Gege based jujutsu on so, this first part applies to shrine the same idea as counting backwards on a timeline.

Shrine Lapse: A sphere formed of inward slashes that cut the air itself, creating a vacuum inside with suction so powerful it draws foes inside.

And counting forward is the opposite of counting backwards. Entering A.d. so you are like, reversing the process, giving us...

Shrine Reversal: The slashes are twice as powerful, broader, and travel outward. Well, I guess that wouldn't really make them slashes anymore, but wacks. Anyways, while they no longer have a cutting edge, the force at which they are ejected from the sphere creates blustering winds that repel or blow apart all in its wake.

And then if put both together.

Imaginary Shrine: A combination of lapse slashes and reversal wacks to create an unseen imaginary air front that obliterates almost anything. (After all, you can have a vacuum AND wind at the same time, so how else could it exist other than being imaginary. Isn't that a cool concept!?)

And since you can't really tell slashes apart, I think they should be color coded so the audience can tell them apart. Like for example, the imaginary technique can be magenta, the reversal can be burgundy, annnnnd let's say for lapse, teal. Just spit balling.

Though I suppose this is all offense. The best shrine needs a defensive technique. So how about I just make that the passive base application?

Base Shrine: An infinite barrage of imperceptibly tiny slashes that surround the user like a barrier and target space itself, infinitely cutting the space between the user and whatever attempts to reach them.

We wouldn't want any chumps using the Best Shrine and making it look bad, so I'm locking it behind an insane cursed energy cost. That way you know only the best of the best are able to use it.

Of course, how could I forget!? Best Shrine still needs a domain expansion! Doy!

Shrine DE: Takes foes into shrine itself, exposing them to the very concept of cutting. All information is sliced into bits so small that foe's suffer brain damage trying to process so many itty bitty pieces.

You know what? I think the sky is pretty, so I'm reducing the cursed energy cost to zero for anyone who has eyes as blue as the sky and hair as white as the clouds — just because. Kinda like the image I used, but without all that hideous make up.

Everyone knows anime characters with white hair are op, they're always at the top of the roster. You know what they say:

> The sky is the limit.

And since the sky is infinite, it technically has no boundaries or limits.

... O.M.G. EVERYONE I JUST THOUGHT OF A WAY BETTER NAME FOR THE TECHNIQUE!!

Get ready. Drumroll 🥁!

#(⌐■֊■) Boundless.

I'm on a roll! Look at me go go!!

... (• O •) I just thought a great name. Screw Sukuna, I'm making this the cursed technique of my new OC character. His name will be!

Get ready. Drumroll 🥁!

#(⌐■֊■) Gogo.
