Milk for iced lattes?

Is it just me or no matter what i do, i cannot achieve milk texture of iced lattes that u usually get in cafes.. like blue tokai, starbucks (in vanilla sweet cream cold brew), and other coffee cafes, etc.. i tried using tetra pack milk n others but the proper creamy texture seems missing, using fresh cream or half n half made it too creamy, does anyone have suggestion for what is the best milk for these?

Upgrade or not?

My current set up: Moka pot Bialetti 3 cup
I use preground blue tokai attikan estate and mysore nuggets from brewclancoffee
My requirement: I only have iced lattes, so i dont need to invest heavily in something that would only be noticeable in black coffees

  1. Should i upgrade to a grinder? Is it necessary or tbh i think pregrounded coffee makes decent iced lattes for me. Do you think the upgrade to a grinder will be worth it for my requirement or is it just something i should get if i were into black coffees?

  2. Should i get an espresso machine? Or the moka pot is just fine? I was thinking if getting delonghi dedica ec890.

  3. If i do get a grinder / espresso machine, tell me out of these 3 which one should i give priority, grinder or espresso? Which will give me significantly better taste?

  4. I also saw someone comment about Flare manual espresso if u have any opinion on that?

  5. In case i do buy a grinder is k6 necessary or i can settle for c2s or c3s? Even if i may upgrade to espresso later?

usually have to make coffees for 2-3 people. So i dont want something that increases my time by significantly a lot just for 2% better coffee. If something makes a huge difference then maybe it is worth considering, if something reduces time (like getting espresso machine, may be even better)

Thanks a lot

So i was looking for cheap, budget friendly matcha so i can keep having it without burning a hole in my pocket. Someone who might have tried these matchas, could u pls rank them in order from best to worst.

  1. Heapwell Ceremonial Matcha

  3. Grenzo Grade A Ceremonial Matcha
  4. Bree Ceremonial Matcha
  5. Tencha Select Grade
  6. Tencha Ceremonial Elite
  7. Tencha Ceremonial Classic
  8. Kabuki Kawami

I have ordered Kabuki Kawami as of now, yet to receive, i have tried Heapwell Premium, Vadham and Bree matcha.

Best budget friendly matcha?

Okay so i have had vadham and bree matcha - they were terrible ngl. I also tried heapwell premium grade matcha, it was better than these two but i would have to add a bit more quantity to make it taste decent.

The first good quality matcha i had was mazame tsuki matcha. I absolutely love it - no issues. The only issue is the pricing 🥲. Hence i was thinking is there any cheap matcha at all that doesnt taste as bad as vadham or bree, maybe it could be a bit less good than mezame but better than those?

I was considering - heapwell ceremonial, tencha classic, tencha elite, grenzo ceremonial. Some lil expensive ones that i may consider - kabuki kawami or maybe stick to mezame tsuki.

Please let me know if any of these are worth even trying like for me i feel like i wasted money completely on bree and vadham in hopes of trying to find something cheap n good at the same time.

I mainly drink matcha iced lattes with date syrup. I like matcha a bit strong, 2 g matcha in 80 ml milk with mezame tsuki (tastes heavenly). Im not asking same quality as mezame but if there is something thats just like 15% worse but a lot cheaper then maybe i could switch to that for everyday consumption and mezame for once a week maybe.

Please let me know your thoughts on this, thanks! :)

Bialetti Vs Pedrini

I already have bialetti 3 cup moka pot (3100 rupees) which is working excellent for making iced lattes but i have to now make coffee for my family also so i was thinking to buy a 6 cup unit. I bought instacuppa 6 cup unit for 2k but it was faulty even after trying everyone’s suggestions so i returned it.

Pedrini is almost the same price aa the instacuppa and people on this reddit suggested me to buy it. So i was considering the same.

If i have to buy bialetti 6 cup i will have to pay another 4,700 and the 3 cup was (3100) so my total cost comes up to a lot :( (7800 rupees).

If i buy pedrini 6 cup is 2600 rupees so total cost is like 5700 rupees only.

But i really dont want to be stuck with another faulty unit so requesting you guys to tell me if Pedrini is fine or i should go with only Bialetti?

Beginner Budget Friendly Coffee Station

Hi guys, I am new to coffee brewing and my current coffee setup relies on a bialetti moka pot (no grinder this is all) but i was thinking of upgrading to an espresso machine.

I mainly drink iced lattes / vanilla iced lattes, and i use mysore nuggets pre ground (for moka pot) beans from BrewClanCoffee and Attikan Estate from Blue Tokai.

If you were in my position, which would be the most budget friendly but totally worth it espresso machine available in India that you would buy for mainly making iced lattes along with any other equipment you would suggest? Maybe you could also let me know about the mistakes you made at the beginning as well. My main purpose for upgrading to an espresso machine is that i have to make it for several people in a day so espresso machine will make it faster than a 3 cup moka pot!

Thanks all those who would be willing to share their knowledge and experience with me! :)

What did i do wrong, Why is this happening with my new moka pot?

I initially bought a 3 cup bialetti moka pot and it was working amazing and producing extremely delicious iced lattes. I saw a youtuber’s method of using 100 g water and 17 g coffee grounds in the moka pot for the strongest and tasties lattes n it was working so good but the problem was that it took too much cleaning, time n effort when i had to make for my family. So i bought this 6 cup instacuppa moka pot thinking that i can make 3 lattes at the same time using this and the bialetti moka pot together.

So to match the recipe i put 200 g water in this and 27 g coffee grounds as i could not fill it more and i used a coffee filter that i was using for bialetti (it was a bit smaller in size for 6 cup pot though) and i lit the stove.

Initially coffee was not coming out of it at all and i was cocnerned even after waiting for 5 mins nothing happened, i thought the coffee was burning but then suddenly it started sputtering and produced some coffee, it tasted shit though.

Any thoughts on what i did wrong?

Suggest coffee for a newbie

Hi, im new to coffee brewing and im using a moka pot (bialetti 3 cup) for making mainly sweetned iced lattes and vanilla iced lattes. I have tried so far:

  1. Attikan Estate - Blue Tokai
  2. Mysore Nuggets - BrewClanCoffee
    (Moka pot grinds)

I liked both tbh. But mysore nuggest i liked a bit more due to some v nice aftertaste that i cant describe.

Also i used Vienna Roast Blue Tokai in a French Press but i didnt like it that time as it was coming out to be very light, i figured that it probably isnt vienna roast that is the problem, it was probably the brewing method, french press, which was not strong enough for my lattes. So im not considering that i have tried vienna roast.

I like coffees from blue tokai cafe (vanilla iced latte, normal iced latte), starbucks (vanilla sweet cream cold brew). But at the same i have noticed many cafes have excellent lattes that may be better than these.

So now i would request all to please pitch in what coffee moka pot grinds i should try, not just brands but the specific roast also if possible. Thanks a lot!

Milk choice for Matcha Latte

Okay so i have my matcha lattes with regular milk and i really like it. I am aware of the fact that matcha’s antioxidants may not get absorbed well if we have it with regular milk due to the presence of casein. However, im not really concerned about that, my main goal is to have a tasty iced matcha latte.

That said, i see everyone having matcha with oat milk. I was just wondering if it actually tastes better with oat milk or something? In general i have never had vegan milk options, i have only had soy milk which tasted really bad to me. But i wonder if oat milk actually makes matcha latte taste better or is it just because of the antioxidant absorption thingy?

Also from a health point of view i feel almond or coconut milk might be better than oat milk if we are having it for antioxidants. Can u guys let me know your views on this?

Mezame Matcha and Hojicha

I just ordered Mezame Matcha and Hojicha (and it was exp obvio) but i thought this was one of the best companies so its worth it. I previously used to make matcha but i did not like it that much as i used Heapwell’s cheaper matcha and it was not that strong i would have to use a lot and it would taste either bitter or just milk (i make lattes). I have matchas i cafes which taste sooo good so i didnt understand why mine tastes so bad but then i thought maybe its the cheap matcha, i should get something premium and thats why i ordered mezame. It will arrive today but i just saw a post on this reddit that mezame is not so good and one should try brands like cowcat and sado. So im a little worried, did i spend 2000+ on another less good matcha?
