Google TV Streamer 4K with a dumb TV

I am helping an elder family member who has just moved into a care home. The home is 8 years old and for whatever reason the planners decided to put 'dumb' flat screen TVs in the rooms. There is scope to attach media devices somehow, though so far I can't see the back of the TV to see what ports it has, though feeling as much as I can I think it has HDMI.

Looking at the Google TV Streamer 4K online it says that it connects with HDMI. I see the streamer unit also seems to have an Ethernet port. Can I connect the streamer to the home's internet network with Ethernet cable rather than WiFi, and then to the TV with HDMI?

I'm a bit worried about my family member's ability to control the TV from the streamer remote. It says it has voice control, do you have to use that or can you also select items to view using buttons? There are not many buttons! She is used to a Samsung smart TV at home, so wondering how she will find the transition.

Amazon deliveries - to where apart from street address?

In the past I have had many Amazon deliveries to both Australia Post parcel lockers and Parcel Point at newsagents. This week I have had two different parcels marked unable to be delivered to my local Parcel Point. Checking on the website age also googling for the issue, it seems that Amazon is no longer sending to Parcel Point??? But they have a few Amazon lockers and pick up points, none of which are especially close to home. But I am not planning to start deliveries to my door, way too much parcel theft.

What are people doing? Are Amazon deliveries still going to Australia Post parcel lockers? How are the Amazon lockers to use? Are there any other options that work? 😅😑

Perth taxi charges - mainly distance, time taken, or a combo?

My family member will soon need to take taxis for a while. Travelling from her SOR home to destinations NOR, the quickest routes are via Roe and Kwinana Fwy (35 km) but the shortest routes (25 km) take at least 10 mins longer.

How do taxis calculate their charges - by time taken, by distance, or by some combination algorithm? So are you better off to direct the driver to use one route or the other, or can you even do that?

She won't be able to use rideshare, it will be taxis only.

Good quality but not necessarily latest model 4K TV around 48 to 50" in Australia, May 2026

I am helping a family member choose a new TV for their bedroom in what has become a long period of medical rehab. Their main TV has been a Samsung QA65Q95TAWXXY purchased in 2020 which has generally performed well for them, and they are looking for something with a similar picture quality in around a 48 to 50" size, not for wall mounting but to be stood on a large dresser. Been looking at what's available in Samsung QLED but not seeing a lot, and also saw at least one scathing review on here.

Any ideas appreciated 😅🤔😬
