I made a Rotating Qi Wireless Charger Pedestal

Action Shot

The table spins and flashes red when a wireless charging device is present and charging. It stops automatically when charging is complete. The knob varies the table spin speed. Runs on 12V and has a high power Qi charger built in. An Arduino inside senses the Qi charger state and controls the LEDs and motor.

The Arduino code is pretty trivial; it's posted with the project on Thingiverse along with an electrical diagram and 3D print files.

Why is my battery welder rework not performing well?

My controller chip on my battery welder (one of those 3000F capacitive ones) quit so I built a new Arduino controller; it's very simple, a foot switch turns on the MOSFET gates for a few milliseconds. But it's too powerful now. It's throwing a lot of sparks and disintegrating the nickel strips. The original design used an EL3H7 optocoupler to drive the MOSFET gates for some reason. I pulled the 16 pin microcontroller and optoisolator and hacked in the Arduino controller. My rework drives the gate directly from a GPIO with an independent power supply so the MOSFETs turn on fully for the entire weld cycle. Is it possible the optoisolator design results in a better welding current profile? Or is it something to do with using the same supply for the welding and gate drive circuits?

"You've requested a new delivery time"

No, I didn't request anything, but "You've requested a new delivery time" appeared in my tracking status.

Is last mile service Cainiao blaming the customer for a few days of delay now? They have been getting slower lately, taking 2-3 days "out for delivery".
