MA (How to speed up studying while maintaining quality).

Hi!

I’m starting my ACCA prep with MA. Ive spent the entirety of June studying for MA while working. But my pace seems too slow for my liking and I’d like to be done with it by July end.

Im currently studying accounting for labour and got confused with the direct and indirect cost break down (is that embarrassing?).

How can I make sure I understand everything in depth while achieving my goal of taking the exam by month’s end?

Resources I’m relying on: open tuition, study hub and bpp practice kit.

Thanks!

Attention to Detail (while doing repetitive work)

Hi,

I’m trying to minimise the errors I make at work, as someone new to accounting—I’d be grateful to hear whether people with greater experience have any “tricks” that reduce lapses in attention to detail.

While I understand it most likely just comes down to my commitment to double-checking, I’m wondering if there are more “fool proof” ways to avoid such lapses?

(Ive genuinely considered cutting out short form content and also practicing yoga to become more mentally attentive, so ANYTHING is welcome.)

Thanks!

MA (Data presenting + Cost Behaviour)

Hi,

I’m preparing for my MA exam using open tuition lectures and BPP practice kit. I attempted the first practice set from Data presenting and cost behaviour and found some questions which were unaddressed by open tuition.

If anyone else has cleared the MA exam recently purly off of opentuition lectures, can you tell me how you filled in these gaps within topics?

Thanks!

A finance career, please give me some guidance!

Hi!

I’m taking the big leap and investing all of my energy into building a career in finance. I’ve decided to take the ACCA and I’m currently going through the uncomfortable but necessary process of figuring out “what in finance?”.

As someone who is targeting entry level roles in accounting, Im trying to build projects that make me a competitive candidate despite not having a finance degree.

Which brings me here, could people with experience in this space please give me advice on:

  1. What sort of personal projects actually get the attention of hiring managers?

  2. What is the most effective way to research this space so Im not just jumping into a finance career, blind and can figure out a direction credibly?

Thank you to anyone who takes out the time to give me advice!
