Pretty sure driver took off with my order after taking a picture

I ordered a salad from El Pollo Loco for my lunch at work. The order was $26.62, including the $5 tip.

I work at a news station with a big green and blue sign. It's also behind a black gate with two open entrances. I always make sure to give specific details.

She first drives by the building and walks around the hotel next door for 10 minutes, refusing to answer my calls or texts.

She then messages me that she's 5 minutes away. That doesn't make sense to me because she could easily walk a couple of feet to the front door of the station, since it's only a few steps away.

A few minutes later I get a notification from Uber Eats that the order was dropped off, which is weird because I never gave her my delivery PIN. So I'm confused as to how she was able to mark it as delivered.

The picture attached to the order is a close up of her holding the bag and I can see that she's standing at the front door when she took it.

So I go and find nothing outside. I also look around the parking lot just to be safe but of course, I don't find anything.

By the way, the time between getting notified and and me going out to get the food is maybe 4 minutes.

I tried calling and texting her and of course she doesn't answer me.

She also never sent me a text that she arrived.

I filed a report with Uber Eats which has been forwarded to a "specialized team," who I have no faith in to do a proper investigation and refund me.

Lol I plan on checking the recording from the security cameras when I go into work tomorrow to get solid proof.

Some might think that's extreme, but I'm not going to sit and be okay with getting scammed.

Has anyone had something like this happen. It's so bizarre.

Roommate just has to use the kitchen at the same time as me

I'm not sure what my roommate (23f) does for work, but 80% of the time she's at home and seems to work only 3 days a week.

I start work at 2pm and don't get home until 11:30pm, Wed-Sun.

Tonight, I had to message my roommate for the second time because she still hadn't paid me her portion of the WiFi bill.

So when I finally get home from work, I see that she's made some food that is cooling on the counter.

After getting into my pajamas, I go down to the kitchen to make some food for work tomorrow.

Now tell me why as soon as I turn the stove on, this girl comes bounding down the stairs to conveniently start cooking again.

She had all day to finish making whatever she was making and already had freshly made food that was cooling down and at that very moment just had to start cooking again when I'm using the kitchen?

There's no way this isn't intentional.

I immediately turned off the stove and packed up all my stuff and left.

I'll go back down when she's actually done.

This roommate has been pushing my buttons for several months now.

Luckily my lease is up at the end of July.

At this point that's the only saving grace.

She's the main reason I've made the decision to never have roommates again.

EDIT: Just for clarification. Me and my other three roommates are on individual leases for our rooms only, everything else is a shared space. I ended up being the one to be in charge of setting up utilties for gas and the wifi since no one else wanted to do it. My two other roommates and I are pretty cordial and chat whenever we do see each other. They're also always on time when it comes to paying me their portion of our utilities.

My one roommate in particular for some reason always needs me to send her a reminder as she's often late on paying her portion. When she moved in last fall, she was in school, she's since graduated and now I'm not sure what she's doing, but she's home the majority of the time.

Like many have already mentioned, yes, this entire roommate experience has taught me that I am just personally not suited for a roommate and need my own space.

The other reason is the bills. Being organized and on time is extremely important to me. In fact, I talked with the girls last year that it they think they're going to be late on a bill, to message me ASAP so I can plan ahead. But this roommate consistently continues to pay me late or need a reminder. I'm tired of having to wonder if she's going to be late paying me for another bill.

She's disorganized and has zero respect for how that will impact another person.

Again this whole experience is a lesson learned.

I live in a gated townhouse, so I always make sure to give my Dashers the gate code, building number, and door number. I also have a blue home sign on my door, so I include that detail as well.

Tonight, my Dasher was dropping off my order from a Mexican restaurant.

Around 10:15 p.m., I got a notification that the order was delivered, but when I went outside, there was nothing there. I checked my neighbor’s door, still nothing.

I texted and called my Dasher, and he said he handed it to a group of people.

I told him I didn’t know who he was talking about.

He came back and said he gave the order to a group of people who had just gotten out of a car.

At that point, I realized he never read the message I sent when I was notified he was picking up the order.

He then pointed to the apartment they walked toward, which is at the other end of the parking lot. It also happened to be the same apartment I saw a couple of people stumbling into earlier when I was grabbing my mail (I’m guessing they were coming back from a club).

I could be overreacting, but why would you hand an order to someone without verifying their identity or checking the app to make sure it’s the right person? I feel like this could have easily been avoided.

At this point, the driver is now talking to someone on the phone in a different language, I guess about the order.

I go and knock on the door of that apartment.

When it's opened, I notice there are about 12 people inside.

The guy who answered said he thought it was his Uber Eats burger and that the Dasher handed it to him when he and his other friends got out of the car.

He hands me the bag, and I could already see that it had been opened.

At that point, my appetite had evaporated and I'm just over the whole thing.

It's almost 11 p.m. now and the driver was still there asking me not to call DoorDash.

He eventually leaves, and of course, I called DoorDash.

I also threw out the food because I wasn’t going to take any chances.

DoorDash did refund me for the order.

I don’t think I overreacted, but I’ve never had this happen before.

I'm curious if anyone has any similar experiences.
