TIL mydei is hot, quite literally

We already know the crystals are sharp enough to hurt him, but now you're telling me they're are hot too? Hot enough to cook eggs on them, at least.

I thought that part in as I've written is some sort of metaphor, and it might be, but it's not inaccurate now lmao

is anyone else's emoti a little perverted for phainon?

so I saw people using this emoti around mydei first, and it was using this expression every time mydei attacked. I tried it but didn't work on mydei, or anyone else for that matter.

some people said it shows this face for the 1st character in the team, some said its about the character that is already on the field when you teleport to another map. none of it worked for any other character I had. it's just phainon.
I would say it's random but at this point I think it's meant to reflect the player's taste

what I expected the emperor to do at the end

this is not my first playthrough, but in my first, I was paranoid and suspicious of everyone, companions included lol. I fully expected the emperor to betray me at any moment in act three, especially once I got the netherstones. that's why I killed him and sided with Orpheus instead, even though I don't like him either.

but in later playthroughs I decided to give him a chance. he's by no means a saint, but at the very least he actually keeps his word and won't betray you. I was actually surprised that you have roll a persuasion check to convince him to dominate the brain; and that betraying you to ensure his own survival was not his first choice. but he won't give you a chance to turn back once you do convince him (as shown in the picture)

consequences of my own actions? sure. It was still interesting to see.

Something I did not expect Phainon to be good at

Debates and persuasion.

the first time I heard cerces say that, I had my doubts (10x win streak in debates is crazy), until I heard his speech during citizens' assembly. he took an emotional approach, sharing his own tragic past, then forced the audience to remember theirs. anaxa approved of this as well. mem and trailblazer also agreed that he has a way with words. I wish they showed us how the negotiation between him and cerydra went, and how in the world he managed to convince her to form an alliance and take all the coreflames. It must've been peak.

in the citizens' assembly, at some point he even blatantly insulted the council and actually handled it well enough to secure an advantage. insulting your opponent in a debate, even if they're as shitty as caenis, is not a wise move and can easily backfire. it happened with aglaea before, that's why he participated in the debate in 3.2 in her instead. because the audience wasn't happy with the way she handled caenis. (in case you don't remember, caenis played dirty and used a severed golden thread to show the audience that aglaea is manipulating and controlling them, and even though she didn't do it, she said she would do such a thing against them)

I also find it funny that even as an educated politician, he uses this important life skill for his niche hobby, AND he spends a lot of money on it (some people know him as a "penniless lad working for aglaea"). It makes me wonder just why he took so long graduate, considering what anaxa said: "should a student be able to debate with me for hours, then they'll pass with flying colors!"
so exactly what did this man fail so badly at? lmao

what's your favorite unexpected trait/habit of him?

Is "Phainon" really that unbelievable for a name?

i just found it a bit funny that hysilens immediately pointed it out.
but jokes aside, was it just hoyo trying to show us that phainon is not his real name?

emperor in particular is so responsive. he always reacts to every sentence. I'd love to ragebait him all day (assuming he doesn't plan to kill me)
