skipped period this month despite having a regular cycle for years?

hello everyone. i(17F) have always had a very regular cycle. periods start every month on a specific date for around 4 days. but suddenly this month i did not get my periods. i dont have any pms symptoms and other than breast tenderness maybe but other than that i feel completely normal. is it common for women to skip their period once in a while or should i get this checked? pls lmk

for context im an american citizen bought up in india. ive always wanted to move to the us for my bachelors in engineering although my parents have wanted me to focus on indian competitive exams( JEE ) which are very hard and preparing for them is insanely time consuming, in 10th i made a terrible decison- ill try to focus on both. most kids they dont really go to school here, they attend 3 hr long coaching sessions for JEE and spend the rest of the time studying. i chose to go to a normal 5 hour school along with coaching so basically i ended up having no time for extracurriculars and feeling completely burnt out and confused.

so far my grades when converted to gpa would be around 3.6 , i have a 1560 on the SAT i have a good reputation among teachers so i can get good LORs but like i said no ECs at all. Im in 12th grade now class of 27 so should i give up going to the us and just lock in on JEE or can i still make it while also receiving financial aid since my family income is only 50k per annum?
