Contemplating moving to Jeffersonville/New Albany/Clarksville from Bloomington. Worth it?

Hi all! I currently live in Bloomington, IN, but my husband and I are thinking about moving in the distant/near future (most likely in 2027). We like the Louisville cycling groups and enjoy our visits to Louisville. My husband and I both work from home, but due to my job requirements, I must live in Indiana.

We enjoy Bloomington for the good cycling options and nonvehicular infrastructure, but our house is way too small for both of us to work remotely. Bloomington home prices are steep, so we've looked at other Indiana towns for more affordable options. We do enjoy living in a more left-leaning town, the events the city puts on, the local parks, IU events, and love our restaurant and bar options here in Bloomington.

So my question is, is it worth moving to Jeffersonville/New Albany/Clarksville region? Or should we stay put?

Working full time while getting ASN

Hello! i am interested in going to Ivy Tech for my ASN and eventually earning my RN. I’m an odd case in that I already have a BS in Public Health and a Master of Public Health. I’m thinking of going for my RN because many public health jobs require an RN.

I currently have a full-time, remote job and plan to keep my job to pay for school. I worked full-time (mostly remote) for my MPH, and I was able to do that by taking classes on a part-time basis.

Am I able to take classes part time for the ASN? I know it’ll take me longer, but how flexible are the ASN classes (like time of day etc)?

I have a MPH. Should I get my RN or something else?

Hi all!

I’m currently employed with a nonprofit and have my BS in Public Health and my MPH. I want to leave my current position and have interests within public health, but often the jobs I find require a RN. Interested in community health, wellness, planning and transportation, mobile integrated health, alternative transportation, health administration, health advocacy, public health preparedness, disease prevention.

I have over 4 years of experience in public health and more than 5 years working in the nonprofit sector.

I wonder if my job experience is enough or if I need to earn my ADN and RN in order to expand public health opportunities. I do NOT want to work as a nurse in direct clinical care.

Other education I’ve considered: DPH, PhD in Public Health, MURP/Planning degree, PA, MBA, EMT. I would prefer not to be in school for more than 4 years.

Thanks for any feedback!

Ivy Tech Graduation Tickets available?

Does anyone have extra Ivy Tech graduation tickets available? The website says none are left, but I was hoping maybe someone picked up more than they need and would be willing to offload them.

Thank you!
