I give up

After literally years of trying to potty train I'm putting my child (3) back into cloth diapers while we are at home. I am sick of the discussions. Pooping into the toilet works like a charm but pee accidents happen daily. Zero cooperation going to the potty. I'd rather wash cloth diapers again than pants. Rant over.

Is somebody else using floor sleeping as a strategy?

I tested sleeping on a kapok trifold matress this summer and my night were more restful. I think my old synthetic matress is simply storing too much heat. The air circulation in the kapok matress seems better. Has anyone else experimented with this?

Who had two undiagnosed parents and how was it like?

This all is very new to me. I used to think that my social anxiety and depression come from my childhood trauma. Now, I increasingly suspect they come from the combination of being raised by two undiagnosed parents and my own (still undiagnosed) neurodivergence.

How was it like for you to grow up with two undiagnosed parents?

This was/is my experience:

- huge explosive fights between them

- a lot of yelling (seemingly at random) at the children

- they both constantly got defended by their families of origin (my grandparents, aunts and uncles) for "being how they are", we, the children, were expected to understand and accommodate

- both had very few friends and avoided social settings outside the family

- very isolated childhood and youth as a result

- refusal to talk about emotions

- inability to develop an interest in topics not interesting to them

- one parent (the mom in my case), who is more functional is treating the other like an additional child, constantly monitoring their needs to make sure they don't meltdown (which causes her to melt down regualrly because it is so stressful and one-sided)

- the children were described as "being difficult" for wanting normal childhood things (e.g. closer relationships outside the family, trying new/different things)

There is more but that's the gist of it. How was it like for you?
