I did due diligence like all the YouTubers suggested and the company was legit with a good chance of success. They were California based and already ran a promising business that wanted to migrate to the Blockchain. What could go wrong?
I recently checked up on it after forgetting about it since the 2010s. Token is worthless and got delisted ages ago from everywhere. I prompted to dig deeper into it with sources. Turns out they used the crypto money to start a flourishing real business. They owe us so called 'investors' nothing legally. They just printed magic beans. That's the best case scenario for due diligence - the people turn out to be good at business but you get nothing in return
A friend I referred is stuck on this screen. It's been a few months. Doesn't it mean they got rejected?
Being classified as bilingual seems to limit the amount of work one gets. Is there a way to become generalist?
Not gonna dox myself but I'm back in rural Africa after 20 years in different cities and countries
I make Woolies style rusks with 2.5 kg Cake flour (cheapest is R30), R15 bran flour (or a cup of granola), Amasi, cheapest fat spread (R13), a spoon of bicarb, sugar and some cooking oil.
I get about 3kg of rusks I'd normally buy for R60 per 500g
We used to have 2 outdoor festivals per month from September until April. Most organizers couldn't bounce back after 18 months of gatherings being illegal and a lot of them moved away for various reasons. We now have about 6 per year, most of which play lots of techno and prog to attract a commercial crowd. The sense of escapism is sort of gone. We even had a few underground festivals playing harder stuff and one organizer that attracted older folk and artists in general. Nowadays it seems Afrikaburn (our local Burning Man) is the only event that attracts such people, and tickets are notoriously difficult to get since it's always sold out
We still lost of course since nobody played objective
It was my first project ever and I'm yet to get further work. Did anyone else in my shoes get anything else since the 'app testing'?
I like retro/Goa and saw a lot of live sets from a festival only playing that style, in Goa. I literally flew there over the weekend just for that festival, with work on the Monday. It was really hot during the day and at night the volume had to be reduced due to it being sandwiched between a residential area. The sound system in general wasn't very crisp. Most of the crowd was Israeli and this was a few months after the Hamas attacks so the energy was really weird. Sort of cliquey and 'patriotic'. You generally wouldn't mingle with strangers with many people having their guard up
I registered for an FNB account in order to use PayPal since it's the only option in SA. I'm stuck in a limbo as they need my ID/Proof Of Address to activate my account, but there's no such option on the website. On the app I can't adjust my profile since I haven't completed my KYC. I called but they gave me a defunct email address. I emailed but they stopped replying, seemingly confused by something so basic.
Any other options? Even if it's through crypto/gift card , as long as it's legal
