If everything gives you stomach problems but Taco Bell doesn't, you might have Fructose Malabsorption

Just shouting this from the rooftops, as it has been game-changing for me.

Everything gives me bathroom problems, from fruits to most foods I eat, save most home cooked meals, EXCEPT Taco Bell!

Long story short, after a journey, I landed on high fructose corn syrup being my worst trigger, and that was thanks in part to learning that Taco Bell doesn't use High Fructose Corn Syrup in their food, just their drinks & desserts.

So if you find that everything messes you up but except somehow Taco Bell, look into Fructose Malabsorption/Intolerance.

If you think you might have it, try a high fructose corn syrup elimination diet, and even include fruits high in sugars. Give your body time to adjust, and if you're lucky, you might just find the solution to most of your stomach woes. With this knowledge, you can finally live life a little less worried. You can also show off to friends who can't stomach the Bell heh.

To people who have "stomach problems" but don't have bathroom issues with Taco Bell, it could be Fructose Malabsorption/Fructose Intolerance

tl;dr at end

I dealt with stomach problems for the overwhelming majority of my life, and everything that came with it [cutting hangouts short, not eating anything while I'm out out of fear of needing to run to the bathroom WITH NO BIDET], etc etc etc, with no help from doctors or ever getting anything than "IBS".

Yet Taco Bell never gave me the runs, bloating, or any bathroom problems.

After tracking my diet, doing an elimination diet, etc, I realized it was high fructose corn syrup giving me all of my problems and I discovered I had fructose malabsorption/insensitivity. Cutting it out as much as I could dramatically helped. It turns out, Taco Bell doesn't use HFCS in their food in anything other than their drinks & desserts, making it a safe food to eat!

Unfortunately, in the US, HFCS is shoved into so much of what we eat, making it an easy to miss condition often seen as just "IBS". If you find yourself in a similar boat, stomach problems but taco bell is safe for you, look into Fructose Malabsorption & try an elimination diet, avoiding anything including HFCS [I took it further & limited high fructose content in general, since even some fruits absolutely wreck me]. You may be surprised, and knowledge it power. Ofc this won't apply to everyone, but it helped several people I know and others online, so hopefully this leads to some relief for another one of my fellow Taco Bros.

tl;dr - Taco Bell doesn't use High Fructose Corn Syrup, which many people have an undiagnosed sensitivity/intolerance to. HFCS is shoved into almost everything we eat in the US, so it's easy to write it off as "IBS" and never realize that's really the root of your problem.

*EDIT* Someone commented but it disappeared about taking a Hydrogen Breath Test. Idk where your comment went but yes! This can be a diagnostic tool. I did take one after mentioning the idea to my doctor. Nothing confirmed it more thoroughly for me than eliminating HFCS and finally feeling what a relatively "normal" stomach must feel like.

Vanson Customer Service is terrible

Hello all, just wanted to check in with other people's experience with Vanson Leathers.

I purchased a jacket from them at the end of last year, the Model C2 - Rayon-, and it is a gorgeous, high-quality jacket.

Unfortunately, it was a bit too tight on me, and I was looking to return it, or if I couldn't, swap it out for credit or a larger size.

I emailed Vanson, radio silence. I followed up with them for months, even called them, nothing.

I heard nothing until I mentioned a chargeback several months later - I got a reply pretty quickly after that! I was given an explanation that someone was assigned to handle my case but they dropped the ball, an apology, and a promise to see the procedure through.

Unfortunately, my method of payment was Sezzle [first and last time, I just wanted to try it out] and you cannot do chargebacks or forced returns through them. After realizing this, it was back to radio silence with Vanson.

The thing is, if there's some reason I couldn't return or exchange it, just communicate that - tell me you can't honor it or give me some explanation! But the radio silence on such an expensive item, still new with all tags and unworn other than to try it on, was upsetting, especially given I had planned to continue wearing their jackets & wanted to purchase another in a different style.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

On a side note - anyone interested in purchasing a Vanson C2 in Size 46? lol This is -NOT- a sale thread, but if there's interest I can make a thread & post it online somewhere. For now, this whole time, it has been sitting in the same box I received it, neatly folded & still wrapped.

Figured it's about time I properly joined the club & shared a photo of my bike

First bike, bought it used with only 400 miles on it about 2 months ago. Got it for a steal from someone who had dropped it twice while learning & decided riding isn't for them. Absolutely loving it!

2025 Rebel 1100

Mods:

  • Burly Brand Stilleto Shocks
  • Corbin Gunfighter Seat in Whisky Bomber leather & black permacool vinyl [always irked me people don't include colors in their seats!]
  • Not sure about specific fairing or flootboard models, they were given to me
  • Cobra Exhaust on the other side
  • Denali Soundbomb [not the mini]
  • Generic crash guards

To do - swap out the bar-end caps [is that what they're called?], replace the brake lever [tip had snapped off], install the auxiliary lights I got.

Bonus - my brother's R7 in the back.

*EDIT* Damnit, I realize I snapped this photo before finishing the wiring & getting the side-panel back on. Guess that means I'll have a take a video when I've finished with the lights to show how the horn & exhaust both sound!

SECOND EDIT - Damn this is a terrible photo. I didn't even have the seat screwed down. Was just too excited to share SOMETHING lol

Installed the full-size Denali Soundbomb Airhorn, love it...but how did you manage the cables?

What I expected to take no longer than 15 minutes took me far longer than that, largely due to poor planning & having to redo it about 3 times.

The horn is great, but finding room for the wires in the battery compartment and fitting the battery cover on top was a nightmare!

It took....more force than I'd like to get that battery cover back on and fully screwed in, but I know it's only a temporary solution, especially as I plan on adding a few more things that will need battery connection and I'll need to go back in there and tame it somehow. [Battery tender, extra lights]

I'm new to all of this and learning/figuring it out as I go, but to anyone who installed the Soundbomb with the wiring harness, how did you route/manage your wires in the battery compartment? Did you splice them to make them shorter? I'm planning on doing that sometime in the next couple of weeks, but even then just the leads sitting on the battery & that in-line fuse take up enough space to make the battery cover a pita to put on.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
