Do some guys need unusually high free testosterone levels to feel normal libido, even when total testosterone is in the normal range?

“Has anyone experienced low libido even though their total testosterone was in the normal range, but then noticed a major improvement only after their free testosterone increased significantly? I’m wondering if some people are simply more dependent on higher free T levels for normal libido, energy, motivation, erections, and overall sexual function.”

Low Libido 7 Months After Stopping Olanzapine Despite Normal Hormone Tests — Anyone Else Recover?

Has anyone experienced very low libido even though all hormone/metabolic tests came back normal after stopping Olanzapine or benzos?

I stopped Olanzapine around 7 months ago after long-term use, but my libido is still very low. Sometimes I only feel mild stimulation from reels/visual content or physical touch.

My reports:

- Total Testosterone: 501 ng/dL

- Free Testosterone: 31.7 pg/mL (range: 15–50)

- SHBG: 26.6 nmol/L

- Estradiol (E2): 24.2 pg/mL

- TSH: 1.96

- Free T4: 0.77

- Fasting Glucose: 85

- Fasting Insulin: 9.36

- HOMA-IR: ~1.96

These reports mostly look normal and don’t seem to show severe hormonal failure.

So I want to ask:

- Can dopamine/nervous system recovery after stopping Olanzapine or benzos take 12–24+ months?

- Did anyone here have very low libido for many months despite normal lab results?

- Did it eventually improve naturally with time?

Please share your experience, especially long-term recovery stories.

Has anyone here experienced possible mitochondrial damage or long-term fatigue/libido issues after taking fluoroquinolone antibiotics (like Cipro, Levaquin, etc.)?

I’m looking for real experiences from people who developed symptoms after antibiotics, such as:

- sudden loss of libido

- chronic fatigue

- depression/anxiety

- muscle weakness

- nerve issues

- exercise intolerance

- brain fog

How long did it take you to recover?

Did anything help you improve (sleep, exercise, supplements, diet, TRT, probiotics, etc.)?

Please share your experience. I’m especially interested in long-term recovery stories.

Has anyone here had low Free Testosterone even though Total Testosterone was normal (500+ ng/dL) and the rest of the hormones looked normal?

My labs so far:

- Total Testosterone: 501 ng/dL

- LH: normal

- FSH: normal

- Prolactin: normal range

But I still have low libido and poor sleep. I’m wondering if low Free T could still be the issue despite normal Total T.

Did anyone in a similar situation end up going on TRT? If yes:

- What were your Free T and SHBG levels?

- Did TRT help libido, erections, energy, or sleep?

- Or were you able to improve Free T without TRT?

Would appreciate real experiences.

Has anyone here taken for 4+ years and noticed low testosterone or possible Leydig cell dysfunction afterward?

Did your labs show changes in:

Total Testosterone

LH

FSH

Prolactin

And if it affected you, did things improve after stopping the medication or with treatment like Clomid/TRT?

Looking for real experiences and lab results if possible.
