The Three Digit Number (Buy a Home in America Ep. 01) #creditscore

After more than 10 years in America, we thought we were no longer newcomers. Then we tried to buy a home, and one 3-digit number reminded us how the system really works.
In this Memory Stories episode, I share the beginning of our home-buying journey in America: credit score, credit report, escrow, real estate paperwork, and the strange feeling of having to prove yourself all over again.
This is not financial or legal advice. It is a personal story told with humor, especially for immigrants, first-time home buyers, and anyone trying to understand how buying a home in the U.S. can feel from the inside.
In this episode:
What a credit score means in simple terms
Why credit history matters for home buying
What escrow means after your offer is accepted
Why paperwork becomes such a big part of the process
The emotional side of buying a home as an immigrant
If you have ever been asked for “just one more document,” this story is for you.

The Forbidden Cassette That Survived an Iranian Checkpoint

🎬 New Memory Story is out!

This one goes back to my student days in Iran in 1986 — a road trip to the north, a Toyota pickup, a stack of forbidden cassette tapes, and one very confused Laura Branigan cassette that somehow survived the checkpoint.

It’s a funny memory, but also a small glimpse into everyday life in Iran during those years.

I’ve started turning my real immigration/memory stories into short animated videos — would love honest feedback

I’m an Iranian immigrant and software engineer living in the US, and recently I started a small YouTube channel where I turn real memories and life experiences into short animated stories.
The main series is called Safar Sang / The Stone Journey. It’s based on true events from my immigration journey — including the Diversity Visa process, the travel ban years, culture shock, and some strange/funny moments along the way (including a kidney stone that somehow became part of the story).
I’m trying to make the videos feel more like real memory stories than typical “content,” and I’d genuinely love feedback on whether the storytelling works.
If anyone is open to taking a look, I’d especially appreciate feedback on:
whether the story feels engaging
whether the narration/English sounds natural
whether the animation format works for this kind of personal story
If direct links aren’t allowed here, I’m also happy to just get advice on the concept itself.
