Genuine question to the guys

I have always heard that guys get relatively fewer matches compared to women. So how is it that most guys don’t put in efforts while texting? Like, why start with just a ‘hey’ instead of responding to a prompt or opening with a question or something. Is it just too much effort? Or you’re unsure if the other person is going to reply with as much effort? My point isn’t that if you get a lot of matches, it’s okay for you to not put in effort. But like, if you match with someone you’re into, why not try harder? Personally, i unmatch with anyone who starts with a one word opener, because usually the text after ‘hey’ is ‘whats up’ and that doesn’t usually lead to any engaging conversations. So am I missing out on something here?

[2C-3B] [Medium porosity] review of this diffuser cap

So I got this diffuser cap dryer thing that I was seeing all over Instagram. I wanted to get something that could reduce my drying time a bit. I did my usual routine and kept the the cap on for 35 minutes. I then had to use the diffuser after that for another 30-40 minutes. So overall, it didn’t solve my main issue which was the long drying time. You can’t really move around while wearing this because it would create frizz, so I couldn’t really multitask. I moved the dryer to different sides to try and get an even dry but one side was significantly less dry. I think it also squished my hair into an unnatural position, probably because of the length of my hair. My ends didn’t feel as defined as with a normal diffuser. The amount of frizz is less, which was a plus. I don’t think I’d use it again unless I’m in an extreme hurry and need to do my makeup and hair both. I definitely think my hair length and density impacted the results, so it might work for shorter hair, but can’t say for sure. Hope this helps someone who was contemplating getting this!

Am I expecting too much, or are people just bad at messaging?

I don’t know if other women are experiencing this too, but it feels like every single conversation is so dry. I put a lot of effort into the prompts, even have a poll listing things we can chat about, and my match note also says please come equipped with a fun fact, conspiracy, or questionable opinions. Basically every single chance to come up with a good conversation starter, yet 95% of messages I get are just ‘hey’ or ‘hi’. Initially I used to engage, thinking that we could build up to an actual interesting conversation, but it always goes the same way- hey, what’s up, nothing much, what do u do, cool, haha. I’ve noticed a lot of the times I ask guys questions about themselves and they respond in the most bland way possible and don’t bother asking me any questions except for my Instagram. At the point, I unmatch anyone who opens with a hi or hey. Probably a little extreme but I think the kind of guy I want to meet would have a better opener than that.

[2C-3B] [medium porosity] Salon vs Wash day results

So I got a haircut a couple of days ago. I was super scared that I would not be able to replicate the result at home. I think I’m pretty happy with how my hair turned out. The volume definetly is less compared to the salon, but I like the defination on my washday better. What do u guys think?

Red flags in profiles 🚩

So, yesterday I was having a conversation with my friends about what they think is an immediate red flag or makes them swipe left immediately. Thought I would share some of them here. To the women, do you agree with these? To the men, hope they help!

- Multiple shirtless pictures: I guess one is fine, but usually even that isn’t a great sign. A better option would be a more natural gym picture in a tank top or compression shirt. Think female gaze, not male gaze.

- Pictures with other girls: I still don’t understand why this is a thing. Specially pictures where guys have their arm around another girls’ waist. This should be self explanatory. Also even if you crop them out, we can still tell.

- Quotes in prompts- Ive seen this a lot more now than before. But a lot of guys have prompts that start or end with “”. That immediately reads to me as AI generated copy and pasted.

- Only liking images and starting with a hey: When I made my profile or when i help my friends make their profile, I always tell them to write their prompts in a way that can start conversation. So for example, questions or polls. And even after that if you open with a hey whats up, that conversation isnt going anywhere.

Rapid fire points-

- Multiple group photos
- all mirror selfies
- Only one to two actual photos, and the rest are just memes or fillers
- One line or basic prompts, tells us that you did not put in any effort
- No personality in the profile. If someone replaced the pictures in your profile with someone else and it wouldn’t make a difference, then your profile doesn’t show enough of your personality.

Thats it for now. Add more in the comments if you think of something else!
