Do you guys read the source material when an anime stops getting new seasons?

If an anime gets cancelled, goes on an indefinite hiatus, or just hasn't gotten a new season in years do you usually pick up the manga/light novel or do you just wait and hope for another season?

What's the greatest anime you've ever seen? And why is it the greatest? (Wrong answers only)

For me it's RAG of course. I love how layered each character is and how well-developed they are. I've genuinely never seen anything like it.

Which anime do you think will age the best out of these four?

If you had to pick just one which do you think people will still be recommending and talking about 10–20 years from now?

And sorry for the shitty image quality

What anime do you think is best watched in one sitting?

Not necessarily because it's short, but because you think the experience works best when you watch it all at once (or over a single day) without long breaks.

For me it's cyberpunk edgerunners. I couldn't sleep one night and was just scrolling through reels when I came across a clip. Decided to give it a try and before I knew it, I'd binged the entire thing in one sitting. It just felt impossible to stop watching.

What's your favorite animanga whose downfall was the saddest to see?

It doesn't have to mean the series became terrible. Maybe it gradually declined in quality, had a disappointing final arc, or just didn't live up to the standard it had set for itself.

For me it's Chainsaw Man. Part 1 is close to a literal masterpiece but Part 2 has been a noticeable step down in quality for me.

Which anime had the best cast without a single weak character in your opinion?

For me it's vinland saga. I genuinely can't think of a single major character that felt poorly written or unnecessary.

What's an anime you thought you'd love but ended up dropping?

So it's this one for me i thought the premise was pretty interesting. It was a little cliché but still seemed like something I'd enjoy. As I kept watching though, I gradually lost interest and ended up dropping it around episode 7 or 8.

Which anime character do you think is incredibly well-written but not very entertaining? (Image unrelated )

This question randomly came to mind but I genuinely couldn't think of a good answer myself.

So I'm curious who would you pick and why?

Tell me your favorite anime, but also tell me one flaw you see in it

It can be anything - pacing, characters, an arc, the ending, or something else.

For me it's stein's gate

Its flaw in my opinion is the slow setup. It takes a while before the story really gets going.

What's an anime that made you realize how important good voice acting is?

For me, it's these three.

Kaguya-sama: Love Is War showed me how much voice acting can elevate comedy. I genuinely don't think half the jokes would land as well without the cast's performances.

Attack on Titan is another one. There are so many incredible performances throughout the series but Yuki Kaji as Eren especially stands out. His performance adds so much weight to eren's character.

And finally Steins;Gate. Mamoru Miyano's performance as okabe is incredible. The emotional scenes just wouldn't hit nearly as hard without his voice acting.

What's an anime that people call underrated, but you think is actually just underwatched?

To me, "underrated" and "underwatched" aren't the same thing. Some anime are already highly rated by the people who've seen them they just don't have a large audience.

What anime do you think falls into that category?

And 86 is only there because I've seen so many people call it underrated, even though it's rated above an 8 on most anime sites. To me that's not underrated at all it's just underwatched

What are some anime moments that visibly made you uncomfortable?

I'm talking about scenes that had you making faces, pausing the episode, or wanting to look away. Not necessarily horror or gore just moments that made you genuinely uncomfortable.

For me, it was the bullying scenes in A Silent Voice. They made me genuinely uneasy and I think some experiences from my own past also played a part in that.

What scene immediately comes to mind for you?

Which anime feels like it was made by someone who had one amazing idea and no clue what to do afterward?

For me it's future diary.

It has such a great idea for an anime, but I don't think it lives up to it at all. The first half is somewhat decent but the second half is a hot pile of shit.

The concept had so much potential, yet it felt like the story kept getting messier as it went on.

Yuno's back must hurt from carrying the entire show.

Which anime had the most irritating or unlikable cast for you?

I'm not talking about just one character. I mean an anime where you found most of the cast annoying, uninteresting, or difficult to care about.

What made them so unlikable for you?

Which anime had the biggest gap between its reputation and its actual quality for you?

Not necessarily in a positive or negative way

What's an anime whose reputation made you expect something completely different from what you actually got?

For me it's probably solo leveling and neon genesis evangelion.

With Solo Leveling, I expected complete mindless slop based on how some people talk about it but I ended up finding it pretty decent.

With Evangelion I went in expecting a deep masterpiece because of its reputation. While I can see why it's so influential it just didn't connect with me as much as I expected and I was not a fan.

According to you, what makes a character "well-written"?

I don't think there's one universal answer to this question. It probably varies from person to person.

So you who's reading this what makes a character well-written for you?
