Is my gun damaged?

Picked up this brand new Marlin 1894 this past weekend. Put about 50 rounds through it. Just now noticed this on the end of the barrel. Looks like machining marks. Is this normal?

So I have dehydrated skin. My current moisturiser (Avene Tolerance Skin Recovery Cream) does not seem to keep my skin moisturized and skin becomes tight. I dont want to ditch it, because its one of the very few that doesn’t make my skin freak out when applying. I have researched and apparently for dehydrated skin, I need humectants such as HA, Glycerin. I stumbled across this serum. Most people seem to really like it. Its supposedly more moisturizing than Hylauronic Acid, which irritates my skin. Was thinking about mixing this serum with my current moisturizer. Anyone tried it?

I have been using this for a couple of weeks. Applies nice, no irritation, but yet it feels drying? Skin feels tight within a few hours after applying. Prior to this, I was using the recovery cream. Figured this one would be more hydrating, but I swear it feels even less moisturizing. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Can’t seem to find a moisturiser that hydrates my skin, that will not break it out, and wont cause it to flush. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Been struggling with this for a few years. Flares up when applying moisturizer and shaving. Always feels tight. Flares up extra red compared to rest of my skin when I flush (also have rosacea. Im super gentle on my skin. No face wash, no scrubbing. Nothing but water and moisturizer. This is horrible. Also have flakes in my scalp, and what I assume is perioral dermatits.
