15-hour layover in Istanbul — what would you do? 🇹🇷

Hi everyone! I arrive at Istanbul Airport (IST) at 23:30 and my flight to Shanghai leaves at 15:10 the next day.

I'm planning to stay and sleep at the airport for a few hours, then leave early in the morning and explore Istanbul before coming back with plenty of time for my flight.

I have roughly 4–5 hours for the city, and I'll only have my cabin bag.

If you were in my position, where would you go? I'm interested in historic places, a nice walk, Turkish breakfast, and maybe a classic Istanbul experience.

Also, what public transport would you recommend from IST that early in the morning?

I'd love to hear what locals would honestly do in this situation. Thanks! 🇹🇷

What can I realistically do in Istanbul between 7 AM and 10 AM

I'll be spending one morning in Istanbul for the first time before catching a flight later that afternoon.

I’ll probably start my day very early, and I’m curious: if you had a few hours to show someone the Istanbul you love, what would you include?

A place you enjoy walking around, somewhere you'd take them for breakfast, a view, a ferry, or anything else that feels very Istanbul.

I'd genuinely love to hear different ideas from locals 🙂

Anyone traveled from Shanghai Pudong (PVG) to Xuzhou?

Hi everyone!

As a xué shēng, I'll be landing at Shanghai Pudong Airport (PVG), and I need to get to Xuzhou afterward.

If you've done this trip before, how did you get there? Did you take the high-speed train from Shanghai Hongqiao, or is there a better option?

I'd love to hear what worked best for you, especially any tips about how much time to leave between landing and booking the train.

Thanks a lot!

Let's Build a CUMT Freshers Network 🤝

Hi everyone!

Is anyone here starting at China University of Mining and Technology (Xuzhou) this year?

Instead of arriving as strangers, I thought we could connect beforehand and support each other throughout the journey. Whether it's booking the best flight, taking the train to Xuzhou, finding accommodation, completing registration, or simply answering each other's questions, it would be great to have people to rely on.

If you're an incoming CUMT student, leave a comment or send me a message. Let's make the move to China a little easier for all of us!

Advice Needed: Best Airport for Xuzhou

Shanghai or Beijing? I Need Your Advice 🙏

If you've traveled to Xuzhou, which airport would you choose: Shanghai or Beijing?

My priority is having a smooth transfer and enough time to catch a high-speed train to Xuzhou without feeling stressed after an international flight.

If you've done this trip before, what would you recommend, and why? Thanks in advance!
