Tbh I love their relationship in the official fionna & cake comics they had pretty interesting dynamic they had so much potential too. in my opinion at least anyways Rip to Og Gumlee lol🩷🖤
I don't mean adventure time but Genderbent but they have their own unique stories and go on different adventures different from Finn & Jake's adventures
I'm disappointed what we got I appreciate the spin off for what it is but it's just Fionna and cake regular world au it seems so boring not like adventure time like where's the adventure .Fionna and cake had so much potential to be a good spin off
but instead we got a very boring one where the characters are total strangers from the og ones living in this boring mundane world.
I don't know about you guys but Fionna and cake in the spin off are the only memorable ones the rest of the Fionna and cake cast are forgettable I'm not talking about simon or the main cast I mean the Fionna and cake ones like Marshall and Gary dj flame hunter and the others all boring and watered down versions of characters that could've had potential
*Just to Note if you like the new Fionna and cake that's totally fine I respect your opinion of course I don't support harassing people over opinions you like what you like even if I don't*
I wonder why it's not as popular since it's well made with good animation voice acting and it has good humor in my opinion I always wonder why it's not as talked about or popular like other indie shows I know it has a fanbase tho but it's not as hype up like hazbin hotel or the amazing digital circus or lackadaisy

I'm glad they didn't make this a thing both princess bubblegum and marceline fighting over Finn just seems so weird to me considering he's 12 to 13 the fact I heard a rumor that someone said this was gonna be episode about this makes this really weird what makes this more weirder that back in the early seasons Natasha Allegri had made ship art of Pb & finn and including marceline & finn keep in mind Natasha Allegri also worked on show
The fact that makes this more weird some people in the fandom didn't see anything wrong with shipping finn with those two adult woman they may be fictional characters but it's still weird to make ship art of this kind of thing
Come to think of it There was this weird trend in 2010s that people totally ok with shipping little boys with adult women more examples of this trend Ferb & Vanessa which Vanessa actually got with Ferb ..by the end of the show (yes he was a adult by then but still when Vanessa met Ferb he was a child she was much older then him)

This is totally weird no matter what if those were little girls getting shipped with adult men people would call it out.
I feel like people should think both are disgusting and nether is OK no matter the gender we shouldn't normalize shipping this kind of thing I'm not here to be all pure here I'm just saying I don't support double standards when comes to this kind of thing

I see Some people claim Og Fionna is around finn's age which that isn't true at all it was never stated. Natasha Allegri the creator of Fionna and cake never wanted the Genderbent versions to be exactly like their counterparts
She stated she wanted them to be their own characters not exactly the same
I'm pretty sure she has stated Fionna is around 18 or 19 . Also I think aging her up was for best the dynamic she has with Pg wouldn't get creepy like it did with Bubblegum and Finn
(just to mention in the spin off .we also get to see og Fionna and cake world on rare occasions ) which she's implied to be a younger adult I don't blame people for assuming but it's clear she's written to be mature 18yo

because Gary & Marshall lee were just put together without any dynamic they just met and ended up together it felt super forced and playing it safe it sucks because they could've been an interesting pair like their female counterparts.
so my point here is I seen people say they were more interesting in the og series.
I would agree with that statement don't get me wrong they're not awful characters in the Fionna and cake spin off they're just very boring characters compared to the original ones.
I would love to see their old relationship explored more because we never got it to be explored much which sucks we don't know if they actually ended up back together in the og Fionna and cake universe it was left unanswered
