UPDATE: Recommended Hardware for Smooth Basic Tasks

I posted an earlier version of this chart asking for feedback on what RAM would have provided a smooth, comfortable experience for basic tasks on different generations of Windows and mobile devices.

I received some helpful feedback, particularly that some of my earlier PC estimates were too high for their respective periods, and also how some weaker chipset could run efficiently in certain periods. I've revised the data accordingly.

I could post another update again if people point out more inaccuracies that I have not seen from my previous chart . I'm only interested in historical accuracy and firsthand experience, not defending my original estimates.

Recommended Hardware for Smooth Basic Tasks

I made a chart showing what I think are reasonable hardware recommendations for running basic tasks smoothly on PCs and mobile devices across different years.

By “smooth basic tasks,” I mean things like web browsing, office/productivity software, basic multitasking, and ordinary everyday use,not gaming, video editing, or other demanding workloads. I also don't mean, start web browing on modern-day YouTube on a WIndows 98 PC with 128MB of RAM.

If any of these RAM recommendations seem too high or too low for their respective era, let me know.

Taskbar doesn't want to stay on Aero - DWMBlurGlass

OS Version: Windows 11 Insider Preview 25H2 (26200.8973)

Software Version: DWMBlurGlass 2.3.2 Beta 3

Blur Method: CustomBlur

Description:

After every reboot or sign out/sign in, the Aero title bar effect is missing even though DWMBlurGlass is running and the UI still shows Aero as selected.

The settings are saved correctly.

Clicking Apply does not restore the effect.

Restarting DWMBlurGlass Host does not restore the effect.

The only way to restore the Aero title bars is to switch Aero → Blur → Aero manually.

This happens after every login.

Can't recieve FAFSA even tho I have a very low SAI

How come it says "Federal Pell Grant - You are not eligible for a Federal Pell Grant, but you may be eligible for other aid." When my SAI is at -1500. My GPA still meet the SAP requirements at my university. What's going on?
