Is tinfoil on windows safe if backed by cereal boxes?
Trying to be proactive in this heat and did the tinfoil trick after seeing it in the past.
Then seen online it could make the window crack? AI overview says it’s safe if it’s backed by cardboard so I’ve taken it down and stuck it on some cereal boxes, but still feels pretty dubious (websites I’ve checked are just copy-pasted slop). In the half an hou-ish that the tinfoil was on the window, the window did get pretty hot.
Can anyone who does this/ with any expertise let me know if it’s safe?
the irony of the whole thing is doing this has made me bloody boiling.
