Am I working out right?

Started working out again at home this week for the first time in a while. I’ve always lifted weights at home for years but saw 0 progress and now I want to.

I’m doing a day of arms, and then a day of legs, and then a rest after doing that twice. I haven’t incorporated much core exercises because I hate working it out but I know I should.

I’m doing 12 reps in a set with 10kg weights, and then next set I’m doing 10 reps, and then later in the evenings I’m just trying to do a few random exercises to help.

I’m cutting back on a lot of the bad stuff I’m eating, and I’m definitely in a calorie deficit. Am I working out right?

What actually is classical studies

I really want to do classical studies, I’m currently reading the Iliad and loving it. Something about the subject is calling to me. I can easily get h2/h1s in my subjects if I apply myself and I am good studying by myself.

I just genuinely have no idea what classics entails. There’s very little info on it that I can find. I don’t want to go to grind classes ideally. Does anyone have notes they’re willing to share so I can understand the subject better?

Lunges kill my legs

This might come off as a really stupid question, so sorry in advance.

I’m back to working out at home now. I’m doing different types of squats with 10kg and I feel the burn but it’s manageable, but my legs are absolutely weak after doing a set of lunges (without any weights). Is there a reason for this, or is my form off?

The Iliad- is Alexander popes translation acceptable for a first time read?

Just got into classics through the iliad this week and my local bookshop had the Alexander pope translation. I found people online saying that it’s good, but someone on tiktok informed me today it’s a poor translation and fagles translation is far better. Should I stop reading my current version before I get the wrong impression of the iliad, or is it ok for my first read through?

Is it realistic in the slightest to pick up 3 subjects for LC?

Context, I posted a few days ago wondering if I should do politics and society. I think it would suit me as an 8th subject. I was previously doing Japanese as an 8th subject but I didn’t like the way it was taught.

I recently looked at the religion exam paper and liked the look of it. I also read the song of achilles recently and have became infatuated with mythology and I’m wondering if classics is a good option.

On my 5th year exams I got an 89 on english and 88 on history (they’re my strongest subject as I’m good at essays). I know that religion, politics, and classical studies are quite essay based. I’m just wondering if I dedicate my summer to learning the courses, is it possible for me to pick up all 3- or atleast 2?

Why are they so against killing bad guys?

For context, I am on episode one of season 2, and I have not seen season 5 of the boys- so no spoilers please.

This question applies to the boys aswell but especially gen V. Cate is evil and there’s no way about it. Arguably hundreds of people if not thousands or more have died because of her. You can even argue andre died because of her. And yet, no matter how much they hate her, in the first episode Marie or Jordan won’t outright kill her- they still want to save her? This is just so ludicrous to me because no matter how much you like her there’s no denying she’s evil?
The worst part about these discussions is the only thing people ever reply is that characters are morally grey and not black and white, but if you were aware your friend was a fucked up murderer you’d obviously do something about it? What do you think, I’m looking for a discussion
