Fell over and cut my knee open badly. Local urgent care had me cleaned up and patched back together within half an hour.

Was dreading going to urgent care after hearing so many horror stories about waiting times and took cash and cards in case we were there so long we needed to get food but whole process was super efficient.

Jungle print shirt dress of my dreams

As soon as I saw this leopards in the jungle print cotton poplin I knew it needed to be a sleeveless shirt dress and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Then the July issue of Burda magazine had a sleeveless shirt dress pattern so I knew it was meant be!

This is pattern 109 from Burda issue 07/26. I removed 11 cm from the length to make it more flattering on me and replaced the internal drawstring with a simple tie belt so I have the option of wearing it looser with a cleaner look.

Really pleased with how it turned out. This is the first time I haven’t fallen out with facings and managed to get them to sit neatly and I actually forgot to apply the interfacing so maybe that’s it!

German Burda Style magazine subscription

Can anybody tell me if the German digital version of the magazine has pattern pages with layers allowing you to print just the patterns you want? I’ve only bought the physical magazine in the UK but I would love to skip the tracing of the multi pattern pages!

Is it normal for the stitch length knob on a Bernina Minimatic 807 to bounce loudly?

I love my Bernina Minimatic 807 most of the time but when I use long stitch lengths (3 and 4) for basting or making toiles when I want to be able to remove stitches more easily the knob bounces up and down which is incredibly loud!

If anybody else has this machine can you tell me if it’s normal? At shorter lengths the knob is screwed in more tightly so it doesn’t bounce but I can’t screw it tighter at longer lengths because that reduces the length.

Does location of oestrogel need to be switched?

Over on the other peri sub I’ve regularly read people saying not to apply oestrogen gel to the same body part every day.

I’m just wondering if this is true and if so why it might be?

My dr didn’t tell me to do this and it’s not mentioned in the patient information leaflet or any official guidance from the NHS that I’ve read.

I apply one pump to each inner thigh daily. To avoid two days in a row I’d have to use my upper arms but I find that I have more adverse side effects (feeling caffeine high and nauseous) when applying to my arms. Maybe because I don’t have as much fat on my arms compared to my thighs.
