Is computing really a bad career to choose now?

So im planning to study a cs degree but the more research i do, the more i see people complaining how difficult the job market is right now and how AI is taking over. Cs is like the only topic im passionate about but choosing a career that has a bad job market just for 'passion' is not wise. I dont wanna end up with a good-for-nothing degree working at mcdonalds for the rest of my life. I thought cs was at least more stable than creative/artistic careers but at this rate who knows. Lowkey might be better if i switch to something stable, even if i hate it at least I will have enough money to survive. Im pretty decent at maths so finance could be a option.

Will my CS degree be worth it?

So I took 2 gap years and during the past year, I was spending all my time on applying to degree apprenticeships but unfortunately didn't land a role but was very close as i got into many acs. If i did, then I would easily take it over a cs degree. I could take another gap year and spend time applying to more degree apprenticeships but Im in a toxic housing situation and need to move out of my parents house so I guess uni will help me move out sooner. Should i just go ahead with the CS degree or switch to another course (maths is probably the only other thing I would consider but im genuinly just way more interested in tech). I will apply to apprenticeships during uni but probably wont have much time to anway. Btw the uni i chose is like top 20 rg uni not top 10 tho.

but my main concern is that i end up getting into alot of debt for nothing

How to apply as a university student?

So Im going to apply to dts apprenticeships during my first year studying CS. Should I include this in my CV since I dont want to waste time getting to the later stages and then finding out they dont allow ppl already doing a course?

Also, any people who succeeded doing this, pls give any tips thanks

How to deal with the stalking?

I am going NC soon with narc parents but they are extremly overprotective . When they find out they will stalk me in person. What do i do in a situation where they just follow me in person or tell other family members to talk to me? I have no interest in talking to them. Can i call the police even if its non threatening? I live in the UK

How hard will it be to find a houseshare with no job/guarantor?

I have savings but due to new rules you cant pay upfront anymore unfortunately. Will it be difficult to find a place with only evidence of my savings?? Is there a high chance of ending up homeless at this stage? Even if i have lots of savings

Where to get affordable nightguard UK?

I live in slough(near west london) and all the dental practises around here are charging around 300 pound private just for the night guard alone. Are these standard prices? If not where can I go get it cheaper?

im at a point where I might consider not getting one at all.

Would u rather house share or live with narc parents?Getting cold feet before going no contact

So I plan to start university in september and go no contact with my both narc parents since thats the only way I will get funded enough to afford uni. They have put me through hell throughout the past year however weirdly after grey rocking for a couple of months I dont seem too affected by them compared to before, sometimes they act nice and it makes me question reality for a bit. I am now second guessing my decision, also when I go no contact I know I will have to rely on living in house shares even after uni but idk whats worse, living with potential narc roomates for like the next decade or staying withparents

Is agnes jones house good for accomadation liverpool?

How is it overall in terms of:

  • social life
  • room quality
  • cleanliness
  • safety/security
  • location
  • management/maintenance

My budget is around £100–£140 per week, so I’m looking for somewhere decent but also social and good for first years. Im going to go Uni of liverpool.

Would you recommend Agnes Jones House, or are there better accommodations around a similar price range?

Any advice or experiences would be appreciated, thanks!

Best student accommodation for University of Liverpool?

I’m going to the University of Liverpool this year and I’m looking for recommendations for student accommodation.

My budget is around £100–£140 per week and I’m mainly looking for somewhere chill, social, and decent for first-year students. Nothing too crazy, just somewhere with a good atmosphere and not too rough.

I’ve been looking at places like Unite Students, but I’m open to any recommendations. Also, is Unite generally a good company for accommodation?

Any advice, experiences, or places to avoid would be appreciated, thanks!

If I go no-contact then I can apply for estrangement status loan which is very hard to get( can take a year or longer) but eventually I will recieve it plus universities usually have alot of support methods in place for estranged students including bursaries etc. I have savings for the first year if needed.

Another choice is going low contact but I tried moving out before and my parents made me cancel the contract after already making a agreement with the landlord so I had to pay the landlord back 700 pound myself. Going low contact means i have to rely on my parents during university to stay financially stable which just gives them more opportunity to lie/blackmail and manipulate me whilst putting me in a way worse financial position.

I know 100 percent I want to go no contact with them at some point even if its not now, thats non-negotiable so its not that im doing it just for the extra money but also for my growth as well.

For context I am in the UK starting university in September planning to go no-contact when I leave.

They will have a big crash when they find out but either way LC or NC im not telling them which uni im going to so it doesnt really matter, they will probably have the same reaction. Plus if its a worst case scenario after university, I can just re establish contact but thats like the worst worst case scenario since they will be very controlling if i move back in.

I know 100 percent I want to go no contact with them at some point even if its not now, thats non-negotiable so its not that im doing it just for the extra money but also for my growth as well.

I’m starting uni soon and planning to go no contact with my parents because the relationship is really toxic and controlling.

My main concern is financial stability. I have some money saved, and I’ll be relying on student finance. I know estranged status isn’t guaranteed straight away, it may take a year or longer

Long-term, I don’t want to rely on them at all. But at the same time, I’m considering staying low contact with them but idk if they will be willing to support me when they find out the uni is far away.

Also, even though using my family as a finacial backup is very uncertain, it may be the only option once uni finishes if I struggle to job search.
