As Bengali should I join Aditya University Btech CSE DS?
Hello, Seniors.
I'm from West Bengal.
My parents are talking about my addmission in Aditya University. They will take loan for the fees.
But the thing is I am not confident about myself should I do BTech or not. I literally wasted my whole drop year. Studied nothing. Even My 11th and 12th basics are week ( i eventually stopped studying after my 10th board and did fun with my friends and got addicted to social media.)
Somehow I managed to score 77% in boards (becoz of my friends' help.) I am not from CBSE i studied from Government School which was in Bengali Medium.
Sometimes I think that I will give my 100% in college. I will definitely pull a job. But Sometimes I think I won't gonna pass my semesters becoz of my past record.
The private colleges in west bengal's total expenses is also like 12lakh which is same as Aditya University Btech CSE DS. But there placement record is trash only 20-30% placement and most of the packages are 4LPA.
What is the condition of placement in Aditya University now and what it will be after 4 years ? What is the avg placement and what is percentage of placement?
The executive of Aditya University in my locality said that the average placement is 7 LPA and it will increase after 4 years. This is sound suspicious. That's why I want to know from the students of Aditya University CSE department.

I can't think clearly about what I should do right now.
My parents want me to join a private college in West Bengal. To pay the fees, they are even willing to sell our agricultural land because a person known to my father sold his land to fund his son's B.Tech CSE degree. He graduated from Chitkara University in 2024 and got a job in the IT sector in Delhi. His total fees, including hostel expenses, were around ₹8.5 lakh.
Because of that, my parents believe that if I do a B.Tech in CSE, I will surely get a job. That's why they are ready to take a loan or sell our agricultural land.
They trust me because I was a good student until Class 10. I scored 83% on my own. But after Class 10, I practically stopped studying. I spent most of my time hanging out with friends and started using Instagram. I also began watching movies and web series regularly.
As a result, I wasted my Class 11 and 12 years. Even then, I scored 77% in my board exams because of hall management. I know you probably won't believe me, but somehow I got very lucky during the exams, and around 75–80% of my score came from hall management.
After my Class 12 boards, I thought I would change myself and prepare for JEE from home using PW. But something even worse happened. I became heavily addicted to social media. I never moved beyond Basic Mathematics, 1D Motion, and Mole Concept. My average screen time was around 8 hours a day.
I genuinely hate my current version of myself. Is BCA a good option? To be honest, I don't want to do a B.Sc. because I am weak in all the PCMB subjects. Would pursuing a B.Tech in CSE be a gamble for me?
Ghani Khan vs Private Colleges
I will not get top 3 private colleges of West bengal ( Heritage, IEM and TMSL ).
What you think
{{{ Haldia HIT IT branch / Narula Computer related brunch / CSE in other private colleges in west
VS
Ghani Khan Choudhury ( Malda ) CSE }}}
Which is better?
Everyone knows that private colleges in West Bengal are trash you can't rely or trust on college but they demand alot of money which they don't deserve.
And it's also true that Ghani Khan has 0 placement record even if it is Government College.
And also I don't have much information about Ghani Khan their attendance criteria etc.
So if you are in my place what you will choose???

Government Job preparation vs CSE Btech from tier 3 college
I’m stuck between two life choices right now and I genuinely need honest advice from people who have more experience than me.
After my 10th boards, I completely lost focus on studies. In 11th and 12th, I mostly wasted time enjoying life and didn’t study seriously at all. After school, I took a drop year for JEE because I thought I could restart everything through online preparation and get into a good engineering college.
But the truth is, I failed badly.
During my drop year, I became heavily addicted to social media, porn, and constant dopamine scrolling. Since I was studying alone at home, I felt very lonely, and instead of fixing myself, I escaped into all these addictions. My average screen time was around 9–10 hours daily. I barely studied anything the entire year.
Now I only have two realistic options left:
Option 1: BTech CSE from a Tier 3/4 Private College
The total cost would be around ₹10 lakh. For that, my family would either need to take an education loan or sell some land.
The problem is:
Private colleges in West Bengal are honestly not that great.
I’m scared about the future of IT because of AI and the current job market.
I don’t even have a huge interest in coding or computers.
I’m choosing CSE mostly because it seems safer/easier than core branches.
I’m scared of ending up with debt and no job after 4 years.
Option 2: General Degree + Government Exam Preparation
The second option is doing a normal general degree while preparing for government exams through offline coaching, probably in Kolkata.
The reason I’m considering offline coaching is because I honestly don’t trust my self-discipline right now. I already failed badly with online preparation once. Being alone at home destroys my consistency.
Right now I feel confused, guilty, and honestly behind in life. I know a lot of this situation is my own fault, and I’m not trying to avoid responsibility for that.
I just want realistic advice:
Which option makes more sense in 2026?
Is taking a ₹10 lakh risk for a tier 3 CSE degree still worth it?
Or should I focus on rebuilding discipline and prepare for stable government jobs instead?
I would really appreciate honest opinions, even harsh ones.
