Residency Renewal Question

Hi everyone, I have a question about student residency renewal in Belgium.

If a student has one course left to complete in their Master’s programme, worth 15 ECTS, and this course is a first-semester course that they are required to attend again, would their student residence permit be renewed for the full academic year, or only until the end of the first semester?

The programme is a Master’s programme under a diploma contract.

Has anyone been in a similar situation or knows how the Immigration Office handles this?
