.308 Vs .30-06

Hi all.

I’m looking to get an all rounder rifle for 100-500 meter ranges. I’ve settled on a Winchester model 70 but haven’t quite decided on caliber, I’m torn between .308 and .30-06. I’m leaning towards 30-06 as it has a reputation as a do all rifle. But I’m sort of debating if it’s overkill. I’ll mainly be going after pigs and deer with it. Recoil isn’t an issue as I’ve shot 300 Win Mag without issue.

Should I just get a .308 or say fuck it and get the 06?

My results (as someone who thought they were Polish with some English)

For context I have a very polish last name, and assumed I had a decent amount of polish DNA.

But what was an even bigger surprise was not only did I have Indian ancestry, but an Indian 3x great grandparent. Some of my family have done research on the family tree, but no one has ever picked that up before.

25, been investing for 5 months now, any critiques of my portfolio/strategy?

Hi all, relatively new to investing.

I’ve been trying to keep my portfolio simple but broad, I aim for 200 dollars a week invested plus bigger one off lump sums. My goal is to have 100k invested when I’m around 30 and maybe when I’m around 40-45 going from investing in growth based ETFs to income based ones.

My target split at the moment is;

50 percent VGS
40 percent VAS
10 percent VISM

Any critiques from people who know way more about this than I do? 😅

CCI Subsonic accuracy

Hi all, I’m decently new to precision shooting as opposed to hunting rabbits and plinking cans like I used to. I have a CZ 457 that I normally shoot Eley Club/Standard out of and it manages very tight groupings easily at 100 meters. However I tried running CCI Subsonic Hollow Points through it the other day at 50 meters and out of 10, 5 round groupings a fair few would have the 3 or so hit dead on target and another 1 or two would be off by half an inch to an inch, but landing in the same spot. I went back to Eley and the groupings were perfect as always. Is it just a quirk of the CCI ammo or does my 22 just not like the CCI stuff?

In love with my new CZ 457

Picked up my new CZ during the week and to say it is the most accurate rifle I’ve used is an understatement 0.5-0.8 inch groupings at 50 metres and 1 inch groupings at 100 with Eley Standard.
