Need help with my Continental GT650
Hey guys, I have a Continental GT650 2023 model with 15,000 km on it. The bike is completely stock with no mechanical modifications or aftermarket parts.
I’m dealing with two major issues.
The front end moves up/down and vibrates at low to medium speeds, and above 80 km/h I get a serious wobble/death wobble. The front assembly has been checked multiple times, but the issue is still there.
At the rear, the suspension feels extremely harsh and I can feel almost every impact. The rear tyre also seems to bounce/jump while rotating, even on the centre stand. There’s some noise from the rear wheel while rotating, and the bike feels unusually hard to push. Now the mechanic is saying the rear shocks may need replacement.
Both front and rear tyres are new, and I’ve had both rims checked at a wheel-truing shop — they said the rims are fine.
What has happened so far:
I initially took it to my first mechanic. He reset the swingarm and front assembly and changed both tyres as they were worn out.
The rear still had the same issue, so the rear cush-drive/rubber bushes were replaced.
The bike was left with the first mechanic for around 3 weeks, but apart from changing the rear cush-drive, practically nothing was done.
That’s why I stopped relying on him.
I then went to a second mechanic, who checked the front assembly again and said it looked normal. He suggested I get the wheels checked at a wheel-truing shop.
The wheel-truing shop checked both rims and said they were good.Another mechanic near wheel truing shops then checked the rear and told me to go back to the first mechanic and ask him to check the swingarm again.
I went back to the first mechanic. He checked it today and is now saying the rear shocks need to be replaced. I asked him why he didn’t do it the first time itself and he says he has to do one by one only.
At this point I’m honestly very confused. I’ve already changed both tyres, checked both rims, replaced the rear cush-drive bushes, and had the front assembly checked multiple times, but the problems remain.
I’m wondering if I’m missing something and
I don’t want to keep replacing expensive parts based on guesses. What do I really do now. Parents are pressuring to sell the bike as it has become a burden for us.
I m open to give any clarifications regarding my problems with the bike or other general questions . I am facing other issues too regarding engine stalling. But these issues make the bike un-drivable.
One more thing which I didn’t understand is that my friends too have GT and Interceptors but none of them faced these many issues.
