cbc.caLimit new mining claims until land-use plan approved: advocates
nunatsiaq.comYa boy just landed in Toronto from Nunavut. Is there a first time fan who needs a miracle? I scored a floor ticket and don't need my seat anymore.
Honour system, of course, but I'm really hoping the ticket goes to a younger fan who hasn't seen them yet.
Laughing - David Crosby (with Jerry Garcia on pedal steel)
Jerry Garcia famously played pedal steel on Nash's Teach Your Children for CSNY's Deja Vu, but his pedal steel playing is dotted across a number of CSN projects, from the first Crosby & Nash album to Manassas' first album, and on solo albums from each of Crosby, Stills, and Nash.
Looking back on his pedal steel work in the early 70s, Garcia said: "The nicest thing I did during that period was on Crosby’s solo album. I like what I did on that, generally speaking. I particularly like the pedal steel on ‘Laughing.’ That was some of the prettiest and most successful of what I was trying to get at at that time.”
Personnel for Laughing
David Crosby - 12-string, vocals
Jerry Garcia - pedal steel
Phil Lesh - bass
Bill Kreutzmann - drums
Graham Nash - vocals
Joni Mitchell - vocals
The song is about Crosby's disillusionment with George Harrison, after the latter's turn towards Eastern spirituality.
