DAE never actually like a single school you’ve attended?

I’m about to graduate from grad school soon. Today, I was venting to my mom about some annoying stuff at my current uni, and she suddenly asked me, "Honey, which school was your favorite from all these years?"

It completely threw me off. I actually stopped and thought about it. I’m not a loner and I still keep in touch with close friends from elementary school, high school, undergrad, and grad school.

But when it comes to the schools themselves? I realized I have zero attachment. Not a single school, campus culture, or teacher ever left a deep impact on me. I’ve never felt that "I love my school" nostalgia. To me, they were just places I had to go to get things done.

Does anyone else feel this way? Great memories with friends, but absolutely zero school spirit or emotional connection to the institutions?

am so tired of unclear bank charges

I saw another random charge on my HSBC card today and immediately felt my blood pressure go up. There was barely any useful context. I was going to go through the usual routine to check WHAT is the money and genuinely one step away from calling customer service again before my friend remembered what happened. But thank GOD This time it turned out my Apple ID was still connected to a friend, and she bought a membership without realizing it would charge my card. So yes, part of this is on me. I need to clean up what accounts are connected.

Still, why are there so many unclear bank charges? If something has permission to take money from my card, I should be able to see that clearly before it happens. There should be a clear reminder, or at least some kind of clue that does not make me feel like a fool every time I found a suspicious charge and had no idea why was that.

They’re not sad songs. Some of them are actually pretty upbeat. But they were the songs I kept playing during COVID, when every day felt the same and my room started feeling too small.

Now when one of them comes on, I’m immediately back there. Same feeling of checking the news too much.
