Update to my previous post

Huge shocker: early access game is unfinished. Why people just jump the conclusion that the lack of something existing now means it'll NEVER exist is beyond me

This just popped up in the discord right after my previous post which I find kinda funny

So like... Why this design?

Given we have no official design for what the gargantuan leviathan would have looked like alive, I sorta wondered why everyone just agreed that this starfish looking thing is just what it looks like. I find it sorta dissapointing because I'd love to see other fan interpretations of how the garg may have appeared, but all the fanart I can find just used this look which, honestly, I've never really been a fan of.

It's not a bad design, I just think it's trying too hard to go for the big scary kraken aesthetic, and Abit to reminiscent of the Sea Emperor and Sea Dragon die sending we have no reason to believe is closely related to either.

Is there some official concept art that I'm missing, or did this really just become popular and everyone just accepted it and decided not to try and be creative with their own designs?

2 is Company, 3 is a Crowd

This is a boss course I made years ago when I was still experimenting with this games mechanics. You can kinda tell with each section using a different scattering of level assets, lol. I decided to just mess around and see what I could do with the Mario World theme. I'm still really happy with how it came out

To this day it's accumulated nearly 300 plays, and only 1 single clear. As someone who's always liked making challenging levels, I'm very happy with that. Who knows, maybe you can raise the clear rate?

This will be my last post here for abit, maybe a week or so. I realize I've been sorta spamming this sub, and my next level is taking way longer to make than usual.

Trust Me, it's Dead Simple.

Just hop on that lava raft and it'll take you straight to meowser. You've done this before right? Piece of cake.

A very single and straightforward scavenger hunt

A few years ago, when I got my hands on Mario maker 2 for the first time, I uploaded a level called Coin Hunt. I loved it, but it was bad. Poorly telegraphed coins, there only being exactly enough coins in the level to meet the clear condition, and several soft locks made it virtually unplayable.

So, a few years later, as I'm getting back into making levels again, I remade it. Introducing Coin Hunt Refunded. Where I cleaned up the level, redid nearly every area to make it more intuitive and enjoyable, and chopped the timer in half so you only have 150 seconds instead of 300. I also added 10 extra coins, so you can afford to miss a few of them.

No one's beaten it yet so give it a whirl, it's been awhile since I've made levels and I'd love to hear some feedback.

Did some testing with the Laser Chronometer today to answer some questions I had about, figured I'd share my findings

It can open anything that a saw can.

Opening regular pickable doors costs 8 and ecm locked doors costs 10 of its 30 ammunition

ATMs cost 6 (2 to open them up ,1 for each of the 4 screws inside

Deposit boxes cost 2

For reference, the 30 base ammo is exactly enough on Bank Heist to open one of the exterior doors, open the security door, and open both atms. Or open 15 safe deposit boxes

The ordinance bag will replenish all 30 ammo. As expected.

Bizarrely, the crew AI perk stockpiler replenishes 2. I'm not sure why it's not all 30 or just 1

Fully Loaded aced will replenish 1 ammo every time it procks the throwable pickup affect, which is how I expected stockpiler to work so now I'm even more confused

The laser can't damage enemies, and can't destroy destructible objects like cameras because it only seems to work on things that have saw interaction prompts

Hope that answers any questions anyone had about this nifty little throwable that's already worked it's way into most of my builds that don't already depend on a throwable. If you know anything about the Chronometer not mentioned here already, feel free to comment and I'll add an addendum to this post.

Note: Did some additional testing right after I posted this. I don't know if anyone expected it to be effected by saw perks but for those people, no, it isn't.

Note 2: This does work on the trees in Bomb Forest, and the truck floor in Day 1 of Watchdogs
