Need advice on my mutual fund portfolio – should I change anything?

I’m looking for some advice on my current investment setup.

Emergency fund:

- Axis Liquid Fund – ₹2,00,000

Equity mutual funds:

- UTI Nifty 50 Index Fund – ₹20,000

- HDFC Mid Cap Fund – ₹20,000

- HDFC Flexi Cap Fund – ₹20,000

So currently I have around ₹60,000 invested in equity mutual funds, plus ₹2 lakh kept separately as an emergency fund.

I don’t do a fixed SIP. I invest lumpsum amounts whenever I have surplus money each month, depending on my capacity. Sometimes it may be ₹5k, ₹10k, or more/less.

My investment horizon is 5+ years.

My questions:

  1. Is this 3-fund equity portfolio reasonably diversified?

  2. Should I change or replace any of these funds?

  3. Is there too much overlap between UTI Nifty 50 and HDFC Flexi Cap?

  4. Should I add a small-cap fund, or are these 3 funds enough?

  5. Since I invest irregular lumpsums, should I maintain a particular allocation between these three funds?

I’m looking for a simple portfolio with not too many funds, rather than constantly changing funds.

Any suggestions or criticism are welcome.

Is My 4-Fund Mutual Fund Portfolio Well Balanced for a 5+ Year Horizon?

I currently have these 4 mutual funds in my portfolio:

UTI Nifty 50 Index Fund – 33%

HDFC Flexi Cap Fund – 33%

HDFC Mid Cap Fund – 20%

Bandhan Small Cap Fund – 14%

I invest only from my surplus money through lumpsum, not a fixed SIP. So the amount can vary — sometimes ₹10,000–₹5,000, sometimes ₹1,000, and sometimes nothing.

My horizon is 5+ years.

Is this portfolio and 33:33:20:14 allocation good, or should I change the proportions or replace/add any fund?

If you were in my situation, what allocation would you use and why?

Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

I Tried to End My Life, but Fear Stopped Me

I’m 28 and have been feeling trapped in hopelessness for a long time. Recently, I made plans to end my life. Because my brother lives with me, I booked a hotel room in another city and bought a rope, thinking I could do it there.

When the moment came, I broke down crying and couldn’t go through with it. Fear completely froze me.

The next day, I went to a railway station and stayed there all day, hoping a train would pass fast enough for me to jump in front of it. But every train arrived slowly, and I wasn’t sure if it would kill me or just leave me injured.

Eventually, I went home feeling even more hopeless. I hate this life and don’t know why I’m so afraid or how to stop the pain I feel.
