Long shot: looking for video/footage of a dog rescue event held at Three Sheeps 7/28/2024

I can’t recall which rescue, but they had a friendly little dog race that day.

My then-five month-old dog, Evie, ran that race and was “robbed”! ;)

Evie has a degenerative disease that is taking away her ability to run - the one thing she loves most of all. I would give anything to have video of her racing toward me with heart of a champion.

Also, if anyone recalls the rescue group, I’ll reach out to them and Three Sheeps as well.

Edit to add: It was “Ales for Tails” fundraiser for the humane society. I’m a volunteer with them (currently on a year long contract in LA) so I’ll email and see if anyone might still have any footage.

Best place to rent around Chino?

Hello! I [45F, single] moved to LA (the city) for a nine month contract (month to month apartment). Now there's another 18 month contract in Chino. I planned to move to Long Beach because didn't think I'd have to be onsite much, but it's now looking like 3 - 4 days a week, which drastically changes things. I only have a couple friends in LA now, and one in San Pedro.

I have only ever lived in major cities (from Chicago, lived in NOLA, and now LA), but I also like nature - though I'm a water baby (hence LB), so this is going to be tough for me.

About me: I'm 45, no kids, single. Have always been pretty adventurous - ex: moving to a country I'd never been before for my Master's Degree, driving solo across the Balkans - but small town life is hard for me. Moving with a mildly disabled dog, so light hiking will be nice. I will be renting and would like some kind of luxury (complex with a pool, gym, green space) for mental health. I thrive on the options that cities offer. Not a mall/shopping girl, though antiquing gives me life.

Really appreciate any suggestions/insight about the area.

Suggestions for places to live while working in Chino?

I'm likely taking 1.5 year contract in Chino. I have only ever lived in major cities (largest three in the country), but I also love nature, etc. I know this won't be ideal, but any recommendations for areas within 30 minute drive of Chino are greatly appreciated. I really thought Long Beach would be drivable, but that, too, looks like over an hour one way. Would San Bernardino be my best best?

ETA: I moved to LA (the city) for a nine month contract. Now there's this other contract in Chino; I didn't think I'd have to be onsite that much, but it's now looking like 3 - 4 days a week, which drastically changes things. I only have a couple friends in LA now, and one in San Pedro.

Suggestions for quick getaway two hours max from LA?

I’ve been more stressed than any time in my life. My birthday is coming up and I’m looking for a one or two-night getaway. Calm, quiet, quaint. Maybe a massage? Not luxury/expensive. My young dog is ill and draining my account. Just looking for somewhere for us both to decompress for a couple days.

Recommendations for a veterinarian neurologist?

My dog needs an MRI for neurological issues. The specialty vets seem to have terrible reviews (ACCESS (both Culver City and Pasadena), MASH). I know I can get her an MRI with some general practitioners, but I want a place that has a neurologist on staff. Any suggestions?

Does anyone have suggestions on inexpensive vet near DLTA or Expo Park? (Please read details)

There are three very friendly stray cats that have been at a construction site for years. I started there six months ago. They are very comfortable with people so they will be "homed" as soon as we can get the vetted and altered. Nearby vet quoted $65 for visit, $400-$500 for *neuter* alone, at least $180 for bloodwork. I didn't even ask what it would cost for a spay. Is this the going rate in LA?

Note: the TNR/altering programs don't account for vetting. One cat seems pretty sick, so we're simply looking for the most affordable place for full services we can find.

How is the mountainous part of the drive to Sequoia National *Forest?*

I moved here from Chicago in February, driving through the Virgin River Gorge which gave me a panic attack (never had one before). So apparently winding mountainous routes petrify me.

Considering this: would you advise against driving from LA to the National Forest? I really want to see the sequoias but I’m concerned about small mountain roads. Driving a basic 4 cylinder SUV with FWD only.
