Anyone who picked up driving lessons in early 30s? I am getting quite anxious the moment I sit behind the wheels during the lessons

To set some context, I moved to Netherlands from India some time ago. In India, I never drove a car.

Now I thought of picking up driving lessons here. I thought it would be easy, but NO.
One, the lessons are too costly

Most importantly, during the driving lessons I get quite anxious and panic almost every time I practice, specially on highways.
The instructor even kind of raised his voice a bit.

I lose my confidence and it requires quite a bit of strength to continue.
Anyone went or going through the same?
How did you tackle the situation.

To set some context, this is a person with whom I joined together at my first job. We really shared a good rapport and things were fine when we were working together.

As life moves on, she started preparing for CAT and eventually graduated from IIM A. Really proud of her in that aspect.

We had bare minimum contact in the last couple years.

Now, in the last week, I don’t know why, I thought let me message her and see how she is doing.

Her second/ third immediate reply after hi hello was,

“Haan, bolo na. Kuch kaam tha kya” / “Yeah tell me, did you have any request or work”.

Felt a bit embarrassed and regretted pinging her.

I was like, no dear. I just pinged you because I wanted to reconnect. Never meant ask for any favour.

Then on the other hand, realised the situation from her point. Working in a nice company, graduating from an elite institute, people would be always pinging for help, referrals, guidance etc. So that’s an obvious reply to someone who messaged you after a long time.

May be I am really overthinking, but thought of penning down the experience.
