FLX4 Microphone issue - rekordbox

Hi, I had to buy microphone quickly before Dj set. I bought a JBL PBM100. It was working for a few hours on the gig but after a while it just stopped working. On microphone side it has 3pin XLR connector, on other side it has 6.3mm jack that fits into FLX4 Microphone input

Next day I tried to connect it via attached Jack3.5mm adapter on my pc and it works fine in audacity or other program while trying to record sound.

So the microphone is OK by it self but it refuses to work with my FLX4 on rekordbox...

Can you please help?

First club gig coming up — how would you structure a set when another DJ/festival is warming up the crowd before you?

Hey everyone,

I’m playing my first proper club set soon and I’d love to hear how more experienced DJs would approach this situation.

The club plays a mix of dance, pop, and drum & bass — basically anything energetic with a good groove that gets people moving. I’ll be the only DJ in the club that night, playing from around 11 PM until 3–4 AM.

The tricky part is that there is a big outdoor event happening nearby on the same night. It has food, live bands, and also a DJ. The event ends at midnight, so I’m expecting a lot(hopefully) of people to move to the club afterwards, probably arriving around 12:30–1 AM.

My assumption is that before midnight the club might be pretty empty, and the real peak will happen after the festival crowd arrives.

The thing I’m thinking about is: those people will probably already be warmed up by the festival DJ, who I assume will be playing big crowd-pleasers, popular dance tracks, and party anthems. A lot of those tracks are also the kind of songs I would normally play.

So I’m wondering how you would approach this:

  • Would you avoid playing your biggest tracks early and save them for the later peak?
  • Would you try to go in a different direction to give people something they haven’t already heard?
  • Would you continue the energy from the festival but with a different style?
  • How do you usually think about taking over after another DJ has already created a high-energy atmosphere?

I know the answer is probably “read the crowd,” but since this is my first club night, I’m curious how experienced DJs would plan the energy curve in advance.

Any advice or personal experiences would be appreciated!

Nizozemská auta

Pěkné odpoledne.

Poslední hodinu nám na Moravě projíždí desítky Nizozemských aut. Nevíte o co jde?

Mají nějaký evropskou rallye? Nebo se jedná o invazi???
