Help Needed!!!

Hello everyone!

I was recently admitted to Bilkent with a full scholarship. I have paid my deposit and plan on attending this fall but I am facing some issues, hoping someone can give me any advice or idea about what to do.

Basically i applied for my visa on the 4th of August and the standard visa processing time is 4-6 weeks. Ive communicated this to the university multiple time and they said the last date of arrival is 3rd September. I have been in correspondence with them and they’ve been giving very conflicting information. They said if you arrive later than 3rd you wont get on campus housing, I asked if i can arrange on campus housing can i come later and they did not give a definitive answer to anything. They then also said you need to give the PAE (5th September) or youll have to take the english course, I would be willing to take the course if it means I can arrive later since the visa processing is not in my hands.

I am unable to call them either on the numbers they gave and on email it is just a constant back and forth with no definitive answers so would love some advice as to what to do or if there is someone I can talk to?

I am getting no where over emails and there’s a lot of miscommunication. Has anyone had a similar experience and does anyone have any advice as to what to do?

F1 US-Visa rejection, Any suggestions for next appointment?

I got into Connecticut college for my undergrad in International Relations. I had my last appointment 2 months ago, my family contribution was about 13.5k, the rest(82k) was covered by the college. I have no prior travel history, the following is a transcript of my interview, could someone please give me some tips on how to do my interview differently next time or change my strategy? Thanks

Me: Hi good morning
VO: Good morning, why do you want to visit the US?
Me: I want to go to the US to pursue my bachelors in international relations at Connecticut College.
VO: okay, passport and I-20 please
Me: (hands it to him)
VO: Why this college?
Me: Conn has a strong liberal arts foundation, I want to study International relations but in conjunction with economics and political history, at Conn I have the liberty to design my curriculum that way.
VO: hmmm, keeps typing
After 30 seconds
VO: Whats this grant (points to I-20)
Me: Its financial aid, in addition to the scholarship
VO: Whos gonna be paying for the rest of it?
Me: My mother
VO: Okay, so your mothers gonna be paying What does she do?
Me: Shes got a portfolio of changing investments, and that provides her with interest income and profit and thats her source of income, shes got about 35k funds in her bank accounts, the same in liquid investments, and I have her statements with me aswell as her investment documents
VO: okay, keeps typing
VO: Where else did you apply?
Me: Names 4-5 universities
VO: Did you get in anywhere else?
Me: No, I got into Conn ED and withdrew my applications from everywhere else.
VO: hmm, you also have a brother?
Me: Yes an older one
VO: is he in the US?
Me: No
VO: Are you facing any danger or fear in Pakistan?
Me: No not at all.
VO: Any concerns about returning?
Me: No, none
VO: typing for another 30 seconds
VO: Im sorry US Immigration law is very strict right now, you’re visa is being refused under sections 214(b), this slip will explain a bit more.
Me: Okay, thank you.

Reply from Ibex after applying

I’ve applied to ibex through their website, its been 3 days and I haven’t gotten an interview call yet. I have no prior work experience and put that in my CV but have an O/A level background and an internship.

How long does ibex take they usually take to reply? Should I wait or go in for the walk in interview? I’ve heard there is low chance of approval if you go for the walk in?

International Student ACA compliant options

Hi im an international student and am going to be coming to the US this fall. My university requires some sort of health insurance and the college sponsored plan is way too expensive. The requirements are ACA compliance, i looked at ISO which claimed to meet my university’s requirement yet was not ACA compliant.

Can someone tell me some other options and what the ball park in which the premium would be? Im 19 and completely healthy, dont really have any requirements from the plan since ive got a good plan back home that ill make the trip to use it if ever needed. Just wanna meet the formality in an as affordable as possible way.
