So in this economy... How desperate are we?
88 dollars vs 26... What really is the difference? I just want my backpacking chicken alfredo man..

Meeting like minded people and enjoying a niche hobby is great and I totally understand it. I have been to a few and had a blast. Dressing up, Q&As from celebrities makes sense as you can gain insight and learn something but paying sometimes a lot of money just to be near someone for a minute or less who clearly is just pretending to be nice and wont remember you seems weird. The Famke Janssen thing is obviously what made me think of this but otherwise what do people gain from it even when the celebs try a bit harder?
Don’t hate on paper plates until you try it. Not for every meal but it doubles as a fire starter and less to clean up.
"*Dogs are discouraged due to large crowds (*Except during the pet contest.). If you choose to bring your pet, it must be friendly, muzzled, on a short leash at all times, and cleaned up after. Dogs are not permitted inside any buildings or tents. Please never leave pets unattended in vehicles."
My dog is quite friendly and gets along with 99% of dogs. We like to bring him to crowded areas as its good socialization and training. What has been your experience in the past years. I agree with all of these rules except Is a muzzle really mandatory or are they just trying to avoid any liability? We visit the farmers market most weeks and never have any issues.
DM me if you are missing one and want it back. I picked it up so it doesn't get run over. If you haven't checked the torque on the lug nuts since changing your winter tires this is also a good reminder to do so.
I'm interested in joining but based on the emails I have gotten it doesn't seem like I can go check it out before joining. Whats the vibe? Average age of members? How busy? Can members bring guests?
Ok controversial but is a trailer even camping? I get that there are tiers of camping. For me it goes cottage/ cabin = not camping at all. Trailer camping = more effort than its worth but kinda camping. slow drive plus extra gas. More annoying to stop along the way. Car camping sleeping in your car = sort of camping but kinda pointless. condensation... Car camping with a tent = first level that actually camping. Less stress than backcountry. You can leave food in the car without animals eating it but you still have to listen to your neighbours crappy music and snoring. Back country light = Short hike or paddle into a remote site. More effort but you finally get to enjoy real camping. Hopefully a private beach and no shitty music. Final tier actual backcountry camping. At least a few KM of hiking or paddling and a portage or two. Finally things are quiet and there is less garbage everywhere. At this tier you can be elitist and be ultralight and eat garbage food and sleep uncomfortably or you can pack in a bit more weight and better food and really enjoy life. Personally I like to camp backcountry comfy where I sleep well in a hammock bring good food r/Backcountrygourmet within reason and always pack in some beers. This is just my opinion. Please tell me your favourite ways to camp
Hear me out before you comment. I have a 10 mo male puppy who pees 3 drops every 10 feet it seems. Sometimes it looks like he is peeing but nothing even comes out. Thats what dogs do. I do my best to be respectful and pull him off when I see these signs but dogs can't read and its not always possible to stop them from peeing where other dogs have already. Today I was trying to keep my dog moving but he peed 3 drops on someones lawn between the sidewalk and the street. Someone came out of their garage and started yelling at me that I was disrespectful of their property and to control my dog. I apologized and kept moving but felt that was a bit of an overreaction. Is having a perfect lawn more important than being part of the community? Would you yell at kids for riding a bike? Is the lawn in between the sidewalk and the street personal or public property? I'm interested to hear what dog owners and non dog owners think. I see these signs everywhere (even on lawns that are overgrown and full of weeds)
I have about $350k remaining on my mortgage and about $200k in the bank. I have a variable mortgage that I can switch to fixed. My monthly payment is about $2k per month. House is worth about $1.3m if that matters. If I pay off more of the mortgage early I will have to pay a penalty of about 3 months interest. Should I put $150k into the mortgage or invest it or a combination of both? If invested I would like to put it somewhere low risk.
I assumed at the station where the Train comes but I was out walking and saw someone get on the bus at the corner of Market and Main. I couldn't find anything confirming on the website. Thanks! Go Jays!
