Public maternity ward - Australia

The label said this was the "vegetable medley" option. 1.5/10.

As a breastfeeding new mum, this was not a filling dinner.

Edit: This was literally how it was presented once I lifted the plastic cover. That's it. I hadn't touched it.

Starting OPOL when son is 5yo

Hi everyone, I've always wanted to raise my children bilingual and did my research on OPOL. However, my son had significant speech delay which was later diagnosed as related to his autism.

My son is now 5yo and after much speech therapy and OT, he has mostly caught up in his speech, though still with mild delay.

My daughter is 2.5yo and has no speech delay. In fact, she seems to have benefited from my son's speech therapy and is advanced in speech for her age.

I'm saddened that my daughter is missing out on a bilingual upbringing and now that my son's speech is better I want to try the OPOL approach again.

Is it too late? Should I be translating what I'm saying for a while until their understanding improves?

How long does it take for a 5yo or 2yo to pick up a new language?

My son has been invited to a joint birthday party for boy and girl siblings. I think they're 5 and 6.

My son is autistic and can't really verbalise what his friends like so I'm not getting any hints from him.

Does anyone have ideas for birthday gifts that are compatible and toddler friendly? I live in Australia so toys available for purchase in Australia would be helpful!
