Unnecessary Foxtale haul

I needed to order moisturiser for my mother and me. Foxtale is usually my go-to brand. I no more have the energy or bandwidth to chk among 1000s of products on Nykaa or Amazon. When I opened the website I saw 3 for Rs.1099 offer. So I selected 3 products and then they gave me 3 minis free. Then I was shown the mystery box offer for 499! I’ve never ordered a mystery box before so I got tempted and added that too!
First image has what I ordered for 1099
Second image has freebies and mystery box products!
I felt it’s a good deal overall but sometimes I do wonder how much margin and marketing budget they would have to be giving out 3 full size products for 499!

New moms, how are you squeezing in time for yourselves?

I’m looking for suggestions, ideas on how I can include exercise in my life. My LO is one week shy of turning 10 MO. I don’t have a nanny (could be the main reason) but I have my parents for support. Yet I get barely any time in the day to dedicate a considerable duration for exercise!
I am between jobs so any significant time I get, goes into job hunting but that’s also mostly 1-1.5 hrs. Rest of the day just flies away.
How do you guys manage? How do you plan your day so you can have some time for yourself? Pls share some tips.

Suitcase recommendations

I am looking to buy a suitcase for my LO. Most suitcases that have cartoon designs look Chinese made with so many resellers having the same product. The reviews are not great too.
And the usual brands like Safari, VIP, Skybags, etc don’t have kids’ suitcases in particular. Mokobara has a kids line but the price is quite high.
Which suitcase have you guys bought for your LOs and has it lasted well?

How to get more reach?

I have a small business of maternity wear clothes. I started it cos I myself found it difficult to find good maternity clothes at fair price. Either the designs are dated or they don’t come with pockets or they don’t have lining.
So I designed it with all the comfort and tried not to compromise on aesthetics. Whoever has bought these dresses have said only positive things and most have also repurchased. But I am not able to reach more ppl. I don’t have the bandwidth of continuing my Instagram page and Reddit is somehow not helping out.
Any ideas on how to improve my reach?

Zerodha nifty top 100

Is the Zerodha nifty top 100 (TOP100CASE) underrated or is everyone aware and is a popular investment choice? Asking cos it gets hardly spoken about. It is priced like a penny stock in terms of per unit and as such appears like a no brainer investment. I understand it is not meant for short term investment due to its volatility but for long term it is a good choice right?

Advice on using lumpsum

I want to invest about 30L for my child. He is <1 yr old right now and I want this money to come handy for him when he is > 15 or may be 18 depending on what career path he chooses. Below are the options that came to my mind.

  1. Buy a plot in a tier 2 city (hometown)
  2. FD of the whole amount
  3. 15 lakhs gold and silver combination (24kt biscuits). 15L FD.

Any perspectives on these options and any other ideas from your end? Any input is appreciated. Thank you.

Simple tunics

Multicoloured cotton tunic with high neck and ruches at waist
Pista green organza tunic with net raglan sleeves. Comes with pockets.

What do you guys think about these? They’re simple, regular wear. Could be worn on pants or wide bottoms.

How to put baby to sleep

My 9 month old is used to going to sleep in either of these two ways - swinging in his cradle or latching and feeding in sleeping position until he doses off.

His paediatrician asked me to avoid both these methods due to regurgitating. He didn’t advise what to do instead.

Kindly share what practices you mammas adopted and what worked best for you all. I am suddenly left wondering what to do. My mom tried rocking him on her shoulder and lap but it didn’t work.

Why has Myntra become a resellers hub??

I am seeing the same clothes from multiple sellers! Some are even known brands like All About You. I see the same dress from them and another absolutely unknown seller with a very local name.

Happy client of maternity wear!

Yesterday, a client sent me a picture of her in the maternity dress she ordered from me. This really made my day. Her feedback felt genuine too! She has now placed another order for a custom dress. Feeling happy about her experience!

Make hay while the sun shines

If I were to take advantage of the current market crash and make up for the lost time, which sector should I aim for? I was actively investing until 2 years ago. And then a lot happened on the work as well as personal front and I lost my focus. So if I have missed a good stock at a good time, I would love to make up for it now. Pls suggest some that I can pick now. This would be for long term investment. Asking for stock directly is prohibited but you guys know the intent of the post!

Help… 8 month old has no inclination towards self feeding

My 8 month old generally eats well but needs to be fed all meals. He doesn’t want to explore self feeding at all. Even if I try to place some food in his palm, he retracts his hands. He wants to dip his hand in the porridge bowl sometimes but only to mess around. Doesn’t try to lick his fingers or anything. I see so many babies at this age trying to eat on their own. I understand every baby has its own growth curve and I am not one to compare babies’ milestones. But eating is something Ive been particular about since the beginning. I have always wanted an independent eater so it is kind of troubling me that he doesn’t have one bit of inclination. Also, if there is something I can do now to encourage that, I don’t want to miss that bus and regret later.
Has any other mommy faced this? What helped you?

Relationships after a baby

Everyone says have a kid and things will automatically get sorted. As much as I love my kid and was desperate to have one, the relationship between me and spouse is only going downhill. We were happy earlier but now things have changed. Anger, dissatisfaction, expectations, complaints, compromises, misunderstandings, mental health, physical health.. the list goes on. I’m just mentally exhausted. I don’t want to put in efforts anymore.

Has anyone else dealt with something similar? Any advice on how to navigate this?

▲ 18 r/jobs

Hey all, my job at an MNC was getting extremely toxic and I have a 9 month old daughter. I couldn’t take that work anymore. Long hours put in and yet at the end of the day there was always something more that could be done. The company is getting so aggressive that work life balance is slowly becoming a joke. 4 from the same team are exiting this month.

While they have another offer secured, I had absolutely no bandwidth to apply for jobs and give interviews while in this job and with a baby. So I had to resign first for my mental sanity

Hey all, 3 years ago, I wanted to gift my pregnant friend a maternity dress. I searched on most shopping sites but didn’t like anything. The designs were so unimaginative and also overpriced. I gave her something else instead. Last year when I got pregnant, the market hadn’t changed much. I found some Instagram pages but the good dresses started at Rs. 2-2.5k

I have always had an interest in clothes so I thought why not design and get some dresses manufactured to help other pregnant women and new mommies!

My goal was to make easy to wear, comfortable, pretty outfits that one can wear at home, to office or an outing too. Some are cotton, some are georgette and some are satin.

Here are some images! Spread the word in your circles and any feedback is welcome too :)
