Has anyone else accidentally trained their lizards to be hungry only on command?

Maggie Simpson tax

But seriously. The past couple of days I’ve been trying to feed my two lizards (Maggie Simpson the Leopard gecko, Locust Slayer the Chahoua gecko), but neither were interested in the insects. Both are generally pretty excitable for them, so I was starting to stress about both not wanting to eat.

I sit down and think about it, and realize that the past few times I had neglected to click the tongs, a very specific ritual I do to get their attention. I tested my theory with Locust Slayer (normally the more excited one). First I offered the insect as is, and he didn’t even acknowledge it existed. I put the worm down, clicked the tongs, and like that he was gearing up to bite the tongs. I grabbed the worm again and he immediately ate it, and the ones after the that. Tried it with Maggie Simpson next, and yeah, same thing.

Keep it mind, I still let them hunt on their own and both are fairly decent at it, it’s just they now literally won’t choose to eat unless I click the tongs first. How the actual hell did I manage this.

My Chahoua Locust Slayer looking magnificent

Normally he’s 100% flat to the wood, but he was eyeing up the crickets I had set on top of his cage for a minute while I did fish stuff

White’s Tree Frog at pet store not gaining weight and often keeps an arm outstretched

I work at a small pet store (unfortunately with no vets around) and we have a two White’s Tree Frogs. They have uvb and heat (admittedly the uvb is a coil bulb, I don’t have a choice in the matter). One frog is doing great, gaining good weight and size and generally seems pretty healthy. The other one has barely grown and often has it’s right arm outstretched and the toes curled, like in the picture. It didn’t come like that, but looked that way a day or so after we got it. It can move the leg to a degree, but generally doesn’t. It’s not completely stiff or limp.

It’s mostly fed crickets with calcium D3 powder.

What could be causing this? What can I do?

The main things she’d be wanting to make with it are lattes and cappuccinos. I know she needs a machine to “press” (?) the ground up beans, which means needing a grinder, and I think many espresso machines will have a steamer. Otherwise, I’m clueless. I’m definitely good to do research, but I’m so overwhelmed with options I don’t even know what to get, and she definitely hasn’t looked into it😅

Can someone please recommend some beginner friendly appliances? And outline what specifically I need? If needed I could go up to $500 on total budget, if it’s really, really worth it.

Going to be taking the driver’s test soon (I have my permit) but I’ve been hearing from family members that it’s not required anymore? The exam paper didn’t mention anything about parallel parking specifically, just general backing up
