Popular/confident FMC

Okey so, I recently all the books I have read the fmc is shy or antisocial, dosent like makeup or parties, drinking etc. Don’t take me wrong all that is fine it’s just that there are so many of them. I want to read about someone who is confident and charming or whatever. And I don’t want it to be a «she is traumatized so she likes parties and acts like a slut» or that she is supposed to learn a lesson, or the book is about her downfall etc.

It dosent have to be exactly like what I have described but somewhat. It can also be a more of a glow up, where the character is getting to that point. I am also open to this but whit an male protagonist.

Any book recommendations based on my favorite books of this year

So this are the books that I have enjoyed the most this year. I won’t necessarily say I have niche taste in books, but I am bad at finding things I like.

I don’t like trillers, action and mysteries that much but if it’s character focused it’s prob fine. I love a good romance especially if it’s MM, but it isn’t a must as long as there is something like family, friendship etc. I also love a character that is morally gray or has some issues to work though.

I am also big on a happy ending, or bittersweet but no mc death or tragedy

If you have any recs that would be very much appreciated :)

PS if you have read any of these books and need someone to talk about them with…I’m here

[Complete] [44k] [YA contemporary] A little sunshine

Hi, I am seeking Beta readers for the second draft of my YA contemporary Novel. I mostly want criticism on big story issues like pacing and structure, and overall, your opinion. I am going to be fully transparent. This is my first time trying to write a novel, and I am not a native speaker. Additionally, this is my second draft, and I haven't done a line-by-line edit, so the grammar isn’t top-notch. If this is an issue that totally understandable. If you are interested, though, I am willing to swap manuscripts. I am also really flexible with how much you personally want to read or exchange, be that a chapter or a full manuscript.
Btw, my book doesn’t focus on love, but there are hints of it between the MC and his friend. I have tried to explore themes of grief, identity, guilt, and loneliness. The novel is also more character-focused than plot-driven.

Premise:
Lev is a boy made out of lies, pretty colors, and smiles. When his year is assigned a pen pal project, he finally gets the chance to be someone real, to be more than a reminder of the dead. But the line between him and his letters isn’t as separate as Lev believes. The safety of anonymity crumbles, and cracks start to spread through the boy he has carefully constructed. For the first time, someone sees right through his lies and into his decaying mind. But Lev isn’t ready to be seen outside of those letters.

Blurb:
Lev stared at himself, at all the lines and dips of a face that was supposed to make him. The stranger reflected in the mirror was both him and not him at all. Muted noise hummed through the bathroom door, the school bell ringing in the background.
He took a deep breath. Moving closer to the mirror, he turned his face to the side, revealing the blond hair at the back of his head. Hot steam dimmed the mirror covering his sight. Lev let out a short breath from his nose before smudging his hands over the fog.
The spot became smudged and unclear. Maybe it was better that way. Lev gently pulled his curls to the side, fingers gliding on the bare nape. Lev barely saw his own freckles, though the darkly colored skin.
The bruise was such a color that Lev had never been able to recreate with either paint or pen. Maybe because human skin was partly transparent, and Lev was not so skilled with the brush yet.
Letting the hair fall back into place, Lev gave it a final, secure tug. He tried pulling the hair down, but as soon as his grip loosened, the curls bounced up again. Thankfully, long enough to cover his nape.

TW: emotional abuse, suicide of a family member, mental health issues,
If you are interested, please

DM me, and we can figure out the details and expectations together :)

Andrew or Neil extremely out of character

Like I kind of want to read a fic where either Neil or Andrew characters and personalities are really different than in the books. Like Neil being extremely laid or extroverted or being really calm, polite, shy or whatever. Any suggestions
