Does anyone have good advice on the best ways to go about sends and buses or outputs for a project / recommend good videos?

Hello, I’ve been using Logic for a while, mainly for fun but recently I’ve been taking it more serious and I’m good on computer storage but sometimes these recent projects start spiking CPU usage and overloading the program. It’s for a few reasons primarily but a main reason is the buses and sends and how I use them. Buses is something I’m really not familiar with but I know if I utilize it correctly then I won’t run into CPU spikes. I’m just confused on that and how I should be using the sends.

Mainly, I always use stock instruments , then add more plugins (but never too much), then I just have it set to wherever. Eventually though, everything gets organized into stacks. I just want to know good advice, as I’m starting new projects and I can get the best results for everything. Or if you know any good videos or other discussions that you could link, that would also be really helpful. Thanks!

I just started this project file. Why is the CPU performance so high?

I always seem to have problems with CPU performance on logic. I don’t know why I still have this problem because I thought I did everything I could.

I used to have this problem because I had very low disk space, Most of it was from Music Creation. So, recently I moved Logic’s sound library to an external drive. For a while it fixed the problem, It would take a LOT just for my CPU usage to spike a bit but now it’s back to “normal”. This project has only three midi tracks yet the CPU thread skyrockets over a stock bass. I don’t really know what I can do anymore, I never can complete a project without CPU usage going crazy. Why do I still have this problem?

I still have 68GB available on main disk. My buffer size on logic is 64; Sample rate is 48Khz. If you’re wondering, I have a mac mini 2024, 16GB, on Sequoia 15.0 Any help is appreciated thank you!

Unusual CPU overload on small project file

This is a common question to ask and every time I do here, I actually get results that help or solve the problem. Then it just comes back. A big problem I had when I used to get CPU overload was that my mac was just running out of space; there wasn’t enough for a project session to run smooth. Most of the space was ‘music creation’ so I figured out that I could move Logic’s sound library to an external drive and it would free up space. I did it and the transfer went through well as well as freed up a lot of space.

For a while now I wasn’t running into CPU problems but now I am. This project has literally 7 MIDI tracks and I’m certain the spike is coming from the drums but they only have three additional stock plug-ins. I also made sure to be careful with the use of buses. There’s barely any sends that would cause this effect to be so dramatic. What could still be causing this issue after I believed I solved it for good?

I still have 61.41GB available. I’m in Logic 11.1.1 and if needed, specs are Mac mini 2024, 16GB, Sequoia 15.0

Sample rate is 48kHz, Buffer size 64

Numerous problems with Logic Pro (CPU overload, low disk space and latency) Now Logic Pro won’t open after relocating sound library

I have a Mac mini 2024 (specs: M4, 16GB, Sequoia 15.0) I have had this mac mini for a while and mainly using it to make music on Logic Pro. Overtime, I started getting more issues with the program and as of recent, I can’t even get 10 tracks in without CPU usage going crazy in Logic. This is because I have low disk space now but most of it is Music Creation

So, I decided to move the Logic Pro sound library to an external hard drive since that would be a good workaround. I looked up tutorials and followed the process. It worked at first, my disk space went down drastically and all I had to do was reinstall. So I did and it took longer than relocating drives. It finished the installation then, I got an error message and after restarting, I see that the sound library is back in the main drive and disk space is low again. Now I can’t even open Logic Pro. It won’t start and says “Application Not Responding”.

I looked up possible solutions and went into cache files deleted com.apple.logic10.plist as many people suggested. This hasn’t fixed anything though. I have a few projects going on that I do not want to lose, in terms of settings and plugins. I’m pretty sure I copied them all but I don’t know where to find it and it wouldn’t open anyway. Any feedback or help would help appreciated, these issues have been stressing me out for a long time now it feels like its in my face laughing at me lol, so annoying! I’ll listen and take any advice, thank you!

I don’t really mind this new season but they have changed a lot of stuff and it’s hard to not notice. Euphoria always stood out to me because of its stylistic choices. It was always really visually pleasing to look at and no other shows really had that charm.

Why did they feel the need to switch to widescreen format for this season? Everything feels so static now (cinematography wise) Theres no more quick camera glides which always added something special to the show. It’s just like watching a high budget hollywood movie now. Watching this season, I just miss all the stylistic choices euphoria used to have. Rue still narrates which is good but she hasn’t even broke the fourth wall once yet. There hasn’t even been any fantasy or dream sequences like the old seasons (Kat’s fan fic, manic detective rue, the slideshow sequences, Lexi’s meta behind the scenes sequence, Jule’s hallucinations at the club, and so many more)

Even character flashbacks don’t really seem to have that charm they had in s1 and 2, Maddy’s flashback just felt much more grounded and bland now idk. This new season just feels so different now. I think the widescreen look changes a lot and I’m not necessarily a fan. Everything with the characters always felt so personal in the past seasons but now it just feels like we’re spectating on every single character.

Idk I guess I’m trying to say that the show used to break a lot of rules but now it just feels so over-produced and almost flat? Now we get defecation, animal cruelty and tarantino esque shock factors like slurs & neo nazis instead of euphoria.
