It took me almost a year to get the courage. Today was his birthday, so I prepared lots of gifts, a bouquet, and a love letter to propose. After class ended at 7:30, I asked him to stay for a question. Once everyone left, I gave him the gifts and he was so happy. Then as I became more comfortable, I said I want to tell you something, he asked sure, I said you know I'm attracted to men and I hesitated but said I like you, then looking into his eyes I love you.

He said “stop joking.” I said I was serious and gave him the flower and letter. He shouted in Hindi, what man? Get lost you gay, you mf, are you mad?

I froze. He gave the gifts back, said “you ruined my day,” left, and blocked me on Insta.

There's this one guy in my class who is a practicing Hindu but is extremely well behaved, doesn't believe in any Baba or superstitions, not too ritualistic like may be spiritual..

The best thing about him is not being casteist, misogynist or homophobic.. Ik bare minimum but the bar is too low...😭

Also never talks ill about any other religion and knows I'm agnostic and queer...

Even my parents have never forced religion and are okay with me being non religious,

But the catch is majority of religious people around me are homophobic and sexist,and do have caste issues😭

Okay, so in a straight relationship, as a man, you are expected

-to take the front

-be the protector,

-provider and

-do other such heavy physical things

which take much more efforts and is burdensome compared to gay relationship where

-I will get a man who will do these things for me and

• I'll take light physical/ domestic role
