Used Claude Code with Fable 5 today and I’m honestly confused.
It somehow started spawning a bunch of agents on its own, RAM usage went completely out of control, and it ended up using more memory than my Mac even has. Eventually everything crashed.
The worst part? It burned through $624 in API costs and basically nothing useful was accomplished.
WTF happened? Has anyone else experienced Claude Code going completely rogue like this? Is this a bug with Fable 5, bad agent orchestration, or did I miss some setting that prevents it from recursively spawning agents?
I’d really like to know if this is a known issue before I even think about using it again. $624 for no meaningful output is insane.
